    Al-Jazeera reporter held in Spain

Tayseer Alouni was allowed bail on health grounds

An Al-Jazeera television reporter accused of links with al-Qaeda has been re-arrested in Spain.

Tayseer Alouni and a second suspect, Jamal Hussein, were ordered to be taken into custody on the grounds that they might flee.

They had originally been bailed for health reasons before the verdicts in their case, due later this month.

Mr Alouni denies using a posting in Afghanistan to distribute money to the militant Islamic network.

The prosecution says the reporter, who holds dual Syrian and Spanish citizenship, had an "intense and continuous" relationship with Immad Yarkas, known as Abu Dahdah, who is also on trial.

Mr Yarkas was arrested by Spanish authorities in November 2001 on suspicion of heading an al-Qaeda cell that allegedly provided funding and logistics for the people who planned the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Al-Jazeera The station remains partly dependent on the emir of Qatar, these oil leaders, thats were all this terroism money is coming from, the saudi royal family, oman, they present a friendly image to the west, yet the saudi links to sept 11 is massive, Qatars is financing Al-Jazeera news, which is nothing more than al-Qaeda political arm.

All osama bin loony ladens videos, go directly to Al-Jazeera, hell they are probably made there too, with make up girls touching up Bin loony ladens 666 birthmark, on his forehead.

I don't see what good arresting him will do unless he can give evidence about his seniors

Obviously, we should only fight the war on terror on the front lines, never making any attempt to disrupt the engine of support....MORON!!!

I think the emir of Qatar, who finances Al-Jazeera television, the political arm of al-Qaeda, is nothing more than a terroist himself, and if Al-Jazeera television was being financed by iran or syria, i am sure the countries in question, would come in for alot of international pressure to shut Al-Jazeera down.
But its one of the oil countries, that is behind Al-Jazeera, and we must not upset our oil gods, with criticism.

Al jazeera is the only channel in the middle east that is not government controlled and its open criticsm of american supported dictatorships in the middle east has lead it to be banned in several.
Aljazeera's open reporting of the real events and issues and exposing american hypocrasy has lead to charges of it having links to alqueda,Aljazeera journalists have been deliberately targeted by american military in iraq, several cameraman have been killed, journalists arrested and even killed.

The islamic world needs more channels like aljazeera and with the onset of an english version of aljazeera,i think it has a good chance of competeting with bbc and cnn.

All aljazeera does is incite more arab violence, it focuses only on negative things to do with the west, when saddams statue was pulled down, most of muslim media were ignoring these wonderful sights, and instead running archive footage of inane events, in syria they were showing anchient architecturein the middle east.

The job of a unbiased news channel, is not to pick and choose the news, to suit your own warped mind, but to report all news good and bad, aljazeera is uncapable of that.

I do believe cnn is biased, but the bbc is, and will never be biased.
