Have I been here that long, it seems just like yesterday I made my first post. Thanks to everyone for making my stay here a vry "unique" opportunity to be able to learn much from many of you, the rest are just a bunch of woo woo's anyway!

Do these people work or have social lives?

In one place I saw a person with over 1,000,000 posts. I am left wondering if this person has been on the internet forum 24 hours a day since it first came out???

Not really. Some people don't say much but still have to talk.

They simply cannot stay silent, and have to comment on everything. You know the person, the one who can't do anything without being on their cell phone, dominates conversations and MUST respond to every email you send? I know too many of them, and a few of them are on this forum.

Chatty Kathy's my Grandma used to call them. She always told me that a good woman knows when to not speak.

 

It took me eight years to get at 27,000 posts..
That would mean that that person had to be posting for 296.3 years if he posted as much per time unit as I do..

Maybe he or she has 3 or four computers running and spends 16 hours a day writing 1 or 2 liners to everything they can. If we give them 10 years then they would have to make 10*365=3,650... 1,000,000/3,650...approximately 3000 posts a day each day for 10 years. This person would have to be the biggest loser ever on the net, having no life whatsoever outside the net, and living on welfare or inherintance in order to maintain such prolonged activity. Is it even possible to post 3000 times a day?

EDIT: 3000 posts a day... /24 approximately... 120 posts a hour... minus sleep time...180 posts an hour 16 hours a day...or approximately 3 posts per a minute nonstop and without break...which is total insanity!!!

 

Cosmic.. for an old guy, you use the lots of time you have left rather effectively.

 

Grats Cosmictraveler, and I am by no means talking about you in this post. I think you contribute greatly and are a fun person to be around.

But it's kinda ridiculous really. There are people here with exorbanant post counts, but what is really silly is the ones who have 20+ posts average a day. That includes weekends and holidays. I'm a database gal, I'd love to parse that stuff and see an average number of words for those people, as well as seeing how many of those posts were just links to other sites or articles. Most of the people who spam post are also people who think they are adding an important topic, but can't even stay on topic after their first initial post. As if to say, "Look at me! I'm important and know important things!" but can't discuss those things at all.

Kinda borders on obsessive, if you really think about it. And you have to know that this forum isn't their only means of communication. I bet they spam the hell out of people in the outside world with phone calls, texts and emails.

Imagine posting twice as much a day as you do right now, Enny. I know I (9 ppd rounded) couldn't do it, and I don't think you (14.5 ppd rounded) or cosmictraveler (9.5 ppd rounded) could either, but I know a lot of people with very little to say. And with few exceptions, they all have 20+ posts a day.

 

Seems it can't be reasonably done. Perhaps it was a joke or something.
