Ah but they came as traders and got ambitious when they saw the wealth available.

Unfortunately we outsourced our industries and cut down on manufacturing and expertise and neglected our education, too busy with petty wars to see the cotton being pulled over our eyes, and before we knew it we were a third world country.

Sucks that you didn't see the vipers in your midst. 200 years later is a pretty pisspoor way to wage a "resistance".

Yeah we were so sure we were smart, we never realised we were being taken for a ride.

And our leaders were dumbasses, making too much money from the Brits to care about the country or the people.

Took us 200 years to dig ourselves out of that hole.

    SamCDKey:

That's the problem with bad leaders: They can really drag down a country into the muck.

Oh well, such is the way of history, I suppose.

But yes, this is why nationalism is important: Bad leaders who sell out to foreign interests oughtn't be tolerated to remain leaders. Alas, such is endemic in most countries today still.

News of aparteid reached the Western media. Again, the wall is understandable when you have suicide bombers killing school children. So long as the Palestinians continue to commit such horrible atrocities, Israel has carte blanche in my book.

But you're okay with Israeli snipers shooting Palestinian children?

News of apartheid reached Western media????

Well did South Africa hear that negroes are always in season in Alabama?

The civil rights movement in the 60s?

I also think it very significant that you ignored the sniper comment.

    As I said,

I'm unaware of any stories about Israeli snipers shooting palestinian children. I am, however, aware that it's not always open season on negros in Alabama.

Seeing your ridiculous comment on negros, I gave your other comment no credence. The civil rights movement was forty years ago, for pete's sake.

The Palestine problem is 80 years old.

If you are unaware of snipers shooting Palestinian children, it just proves that Western media does not hear/care.

After all, its not like the news is not available in Western media.

I would be really interested to hear an Israeli soldier tell me why snipers shoot children.

    How about this one?

as far as i recall he was(it doesnt say in your quote none of them werent persecuted only they werent convicted, i wonder why), and the rest of your quotes are again, more opinion, not much facts. but i guess, that is what you do best.

that depends, you know, if hes guilty or not. but according to the guardian they are already guilty, just like in the old days of dictatorship.
