he was under attack so they let him go. the man doesnt have time to put on his pants if people are out there trying to kill him, his superiors understood afaik.
I remember a few years ago seeing a photo taken during WW2 and only released decades after the war (the book was published ca. 2000). It was an anti-aircraft gun-crew on England's southern coast, and they had been called to their stations by an intruder-alarm while rehearsing some sort of pantomime. The picture showed them in action loading and working the gun--and every man was dressed in a frilly tutu. The Censor's Board, for obvious reasons, were none too keen for the photo to be published in the newspapers, and squashed the story.
