http : //img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=powerenhancerno12xd4.jpg still under 20 posts. try stopping the bottom crank shaft when turning the gears
Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! It's not clear to me how this is supposed to work. Apply pressure to teh crankshaft in what direction? Why would B go down? Is there a pivot somewhere? What are the wheels doing? I don't understand at all. Perhaps you can elaborate?
(B) will force the rod between (A) and (B) to act as a leaver forcing (B) down and (A) up the gears will equalize this motion leaving the gears to move easy with a large load on the crank shaft. Standed crank shaft the gears move up then down then up (etc). The gears, wheels and crank shaft are conneted to the frame of the device.
If B moves down then the right cogwheel will move clockwise. If the right cogwheel moves clockwise then the left cogwheel moves anti-clockwise. If the left cogwheel moves anti-clockwise then A will be forced downwards. So the rod between A and B will not move.
it seems to me that (A) and (B) will move in the same direction. as (B) is pulled down by the crank then so is (A), and vice versa.

Ok, so what's it supposed to do? I'm guessing a perpetual motion machine. If so, I'll just say- Why don't you build it and see what happens?

the legend in petes post says "power enhancer". Hmmm . . . power enhancer. you will not get more power out of this contraption than you put into it. as a matter of fact you will get a lot less due to all those extra gears, racks, spurs, and pinions. i'm reminded of a small wooden block that had two sliders in it my brother used to have. the sliders were connected to a "crank" in such a way that when you turned the crank one piece would slide vertically while the other slide horizontally. this small wooden device had no purpose other than a conversation piece. he called it a "bullshit machine".
