[size=+2]Mafia - NIGHT 6[/size] Following the arrest of the Casino Owner (USS Athens), The Plazma Times swings into action. The Editor (nietzschefan) writes a column in the evening edition that argues persuasively that the Casino and its owner have brought wealth, visitors and at least one celebrity to this town. The editorial goes on to persuade the townspeople that the Casino Owner is not a likely member of the Mafia. Instead, the Editor controversially but squarely points the finger at the town's Police Officer (Betrayer0fHope). The Editor's persuasive arguments prompt the remaining townspeople to call an emergency meeting to review today's town vote. At the meeting, it is unanimously decided that the Casino Owner (USS Athens) ought to be released from remand, and the Police Officer (Betrayer0fHope) arrested in his place. The FBI is called in from out of town to take the Police Officer away. In prison, the Police Officer will join the Travel Agent (SAM), the Mayor (Asguard) and the Lawyer (Norsefire). Night falls once again. --- The Police Officer (Betrayer0fHope) is ARRESTED and can play no further part in the game. Information later comes to light that the Police Officer WAS a senior member of the mob. DAY 7 will start: (a) as soon as I have a clear majority vote for a "kill" from the Mafia (if received before about 3 September, 12 noon UT); OR (b) with 2 hours or so of 4 September, 12 midnight UT otherwise. Living MAFIA may now talk to each other by PM. This thread will be closed until DAY 7 starts. People remaining in the game: Casino Owner (USS Athens) Village Idiot (unixgeek13) Bodyguard (skaught) Newspaper editor (nietzschefan) It can now also be revealed that at least one Mafia member still remains alive and free. This is true even though when the game started there were only 5 mafia members, and 5 known mafia members have now been either arrested or killed. How this is possible will be explained when the game ends.
[size=+2]Mafia - DAY 7[/size] Time seems to fly on NIGHT 7. The Casino Owner (USS Athens) arrives back in town late after his release from remand. He heads straight to bed. It has been a long day. The Bodyguard (skaught) stands guard, as usual, outside his door. The Editor (nietzschefan), happy about a job well done, heads to the Casino for a meal and a drink. The Village Idiot (unixgeek13), having none of his old friends to talk to around the oil drum, also wanders into the Casino to watch the pretty flashing lights. A little after midnight, the Editor gets up from his seat to head home via the newspaper office. But before he leaves the casino, he wants to make a quick comfort stop in the bathroom of the casino. At 5 am, a cleaner discovers the body of the Editor slumped in a toilet cubicle at the casino. He has been shot, a single, neat shot directly through his forehead. He must have died instantly. The Mafia has sent a clear message to the press not to interfere with any future town votes... --- The Editor (nietzschefan) is DEAD and can play no further part in the game. It can now be revealed that the Editor was NOT a mafia member. NIGHT 7 will start: (a) on 3 September, between 6 and 8 am UT, if all players have registered an arrest vote before then; OR (b) with 2 hours or so of 4 September, 12 midnight UT otherwise. so I guess it comes down to this... of the three remaining, are there 1 or 2 mafia left? can't be three....
The Village Idiot wanders around town in the stark light of day... almost everyone is gone. With only three people left, it's hard to know who to trust. So many mistakes made up to this point. So many innocent people arrested and so many people killed... I start to hum to myself... then I sing... "Where, o where has my Underdog gone? O where o where can he be?!?!" where indeed!
Sorry, I havent been able to post lately. 10th grade and all. Yes, I was suspicious of BOH because he voted for me. And I know I'm not mafia. He hardly ever disclosed any information from his searches.
unixgeek13 and USS Athens, Seeing as you are both online, and skaught has registered a vote already, if the two of you vote we can wrap up DAY 7 (and possibly the game). -- By the way, it is now possible for the remaining players to reason out how many mafia are left. Given that the game is still going...
Then again, wasn't it skaught who was committing all of those secondary killings against Mafia members? The description did say that the Bodyguard was a mysterious person. James R said that there were also "undisclosed" powers given to certain townspeople, and I can't see you, the Village Idiot committing these other murders.
first my reasoning.. then my vote... bodyguard is on CCTV... so his vote doesn't count AND he couldn't kill anyone tonight. If I vote for bodyguard, then he's gone and it's just me and the casino owner. If I vote for the casino owner, then it's a tie vote and nothing happens, and I'd likely die overnight. No reason to drag this out forever... vote: Skaught geez I hope I got this right!!!!
