On board of DSA 13, two hours after the arrival of the Dark LAncelot on DSA 13.
The progress humans achieve was trully astounding. The men and women of the Punisher Force were astounded. This station was nothing like the ones they used to have before they left. This station was well provisioned. It was well furneshed almost luxuous. It seemed like the private estate of the old aristocracies that lived on earth. And at this station countless of races co-exsited under Human patronship. Humanity must have achieved much. But all its accomplishements were again threatened by the scerlag. It had to stop. The scerlag must learn to leave mankind in peace. And The captain and crew of the Dark Lancelot would make sure that happened.
"The crew needed this" The captain said. Everyone nodded.
"Oh, how I missed this!" Ann exclamed. "I can't wait to see Earth"
"There won't be no earth left if we don't succeed in stopping the scerlag" Piotr responded dryly. And with that they were all forced to remember the threat and the fact that they could not enjoy their long lost home because it.
"What is the matter Adil?" asked the captain.
"I am worried" replied Adil. "They are treating us so ceremonially...I didn't sense the least trace of urgency in the way they took the news of the scerlag threat. Do you think there is something we don't know, captain?"
The captain remained silent as if confirming Adil's doubts.

23 minutes later the senior staff of the Dark lancelot met the station commander. He was a bald middleaged man. He behaved like a bureacrat. He was amiable but failed at charming his audience. It was as if he was hiding something. And he kept evading the subject for wich they came.
"...captain, you and your crew have done enough for earth. Earth is preapring a grand ceremony in your honor..."
"What about the scerlag?" interrupted th Captain.
"Captain, I do understand you want to see your work finished. But we can handle the situation. You should trust Sciforums Command. We are well prepared" replied the bureaucrat slightly aggravated
"How can you be prepared. Your station is surrounded by idle ships and many more are running around the galaxy as if notting is happening"
By saying that the captain had changed the tone of the conversation. to the worse. And the station commander took over.
"Captain, let me be blunt. Your orders as a Sci. fleet officer is to proceed towards earth where you shall be treated as a hero. Your orders further say that you are not to interfere in the course of events relating to the Scerlag Poeple" Poeple? the captain thought. Since when did Sci fleet officer apply that word to scerlag. something was wrong. "You will be escorted to earth by one of the ships stationed here. Captain, it was a pleasure meeting you" that was a dismissal."
They all stood up.

In the corridor.
"Piotr...try to log onto the section's database. Who knows maybe our accounts are still active. Try to see if they have any intel on the operation"
"I am on it". Piotr then left. The top echelons of the Punisher Force were ex-special force officers.
"Ok Poeple, Adil I want you mingle in with the workers at dock. See if they know anything. Those poeple must know all the prevailing rumors."
"Ann ready the Dark Lancelot"

30 minutes later the Dark Lancelot was leaving the docking bay for earth. behind it was another ship that was supposed to "escort" it.
Meanwhile on the bridge.
"Piotr what did you come up with?"
"Nothing much sir. All that I found out was that there was to be a diplomatic settlement. They said that some planets were involved in the deal"
"What about you Adil."
"I can confirm that. What I heard was that they ceded part of Human space to the scerlag." That was the reason why they didn't the Dark LAncelot in space. It could endanger the whole deal.
"What do we do captain?" asked Ann.
"What can we do?" Earth surrender was hard to swallow. "We have no choice..."

As I surveyed the readouts on our ship after our latest skirmish with the Scerlag, I realized we had spent almost all of our ammunition for both the missle pods and our rail cannon, and we were running low on fuel. That and we had run out of real food so we had to go to eating "Tube Sloop". It tasted like flat Mountain Dew with strong feces undertones. I wanted to find the man who invented it and put a bullet in his face... eh, come to think of it, someone had probably already done it.
Anyway, I hadn't planned for this ship's first combat mission to go so badly, but it was to be expected. After all, this wasn't the most experianced crew I had ever seen, and our AI mainframe still hadn't arrived. So, yeah, the dammage to the ship was minimmal when you considered that.
Of course, that was besides the point, we needed to get supplys no matter what excuses I made up.
We were going to dock at the nearest space station, Deep Space Array #13 to get ammo, fuel, food, and some needed rest.
That, and I was going to try and get that AI we had been promised months ago. Those cheap-asses at command aparently were too busy with "More Pressing Matters" to send us anything except shipment delay notices.

I am unsure as to whether I rescued the crew of the Effluence or not. But, if I did I drop them off at the closest space station for transport back to Earth. I on the other hand have other plans. I have heard scuttlebutt about peace treaties with the Scerlag, but I'm not interested. There is research to be done. I will be heading to the outlying sector of the Hippie Neutral Zone to begin testing a new device my chief researcher has come up with. It is based on hippie technology and some ideas that Spurietta has about Scerlag technology. More details will be forthcoming.
Spurietta had a private conversation with her father. Spurious was furious with her for getting mixed up in first the hippie threat then the scerlag menace. Spurietta showed her charismatic powers and charmed him easily. After she has helped us develop this new device, she will most likely return to Earth for a short stay.

Having ejected ourselves from the airlocks of the SSS Effluence moments before its complete destruction, we drifted in space briefly before realizing a ship had pulled up beside us, the SSS Duelist?! We gratefully clung to the hull of the vessel and watched the growing frenzy of battle. Clearly, hanging on to the outer surface of a ship in space was not the safest place to be. It was with growing concern that we saw ourselves approaching the Queen of Mayhem.
Evidently, someone else had spotted us as well as we felt ourselves caught up in a transport beam. As our new surroundings came into view, I quickly recognized the main transporter room of the Percipience. I had been here about a year ago while serving aboard the SSS Sphincter when the crew of the Percipience had a run in with a 600 kg Rhinopterian Stink Beetle which had gotten loose on the ship and we were called in as clean up duty.
The Captain of the ship generously offered us accomodations. I was quite surprised to run into my old flame, Spurietta aboard. The past couple years had been good to her, and indeed, so had most of the crew of the Percipience, it seemed. I had never seen so much cigarette smoking on a starship before…
Alas, her heart was set on continuing aboard this ship and I bade her farewell. We were transported to the space station at DSA 13, where upon we set out in search of the commanding officer.

The Traveler is musty, not having been used in ages. As soon as the World Wanderer was completed, the old destroyer was overhualed and put in mothballs aboard the Queen of mayhem. Corinthus settles into the docking frame, and links up to help fly the ship, as there is no crew and the AI put on board is far inferior. I would have liked to have had a crew aboard, but the Percipience beamed the only one available away.
Plasma rockets flare, and we start out of the system. The SSS Dragonlance is nearby, arriving too late to help with the battle here, but perhaps my bond brother, who with his Duelist Aegres on board, and I can make some sense of the recent transmissions bouncing around. Corinthus sends a note inviting the Admiral to come along. A destroyer, a corvette and a battleship would make an interesting group, I muse as the distance closes. It's been three years since I've seen my Molnari bond brother. We've kept in touch, and enjoyed each other's stories of our time apart. If some of the rumors are true, two Duelists together may be a good idea. Law prohibits Duelists who are citizens of the Union to fight one another aside from the ritual combat required by tradition when we meet. I flex my hand, and feel metal as well as flesh clench. The meeting of old friends and allies is a good thing. The making of new ones even better.

"We 've got our orders. You all fought well. But I no longer have authority over you, specially since Sci. Command ordered us all to head for earth." The captain uttered these words as if he didn't mean any of them. As if he layed the choice with his crew. He knew they would follow him into battle. But they had already fought for so long. He couldn't influence them into following him.
It was Piotr who broke the silence on the bridge "Captain I believe I speak for everyone of us when I say: to hell with orders"
That was all the captain needed. He immediately took over. "All right. We need to lose our escort and meet up and then we are going to pick a fight. But that won't be enough. We ned more ships"
Ann offered a solution "Sir, we have encoutered several ships on our way to SBA 13. I think we can count on the ships captains."
"It's worth a try. Qiu, can you reach other ships?"
"Yes sir. We are correctly logged onto E.S.T.N. Who do you want me to hail?" There was no sense in contacting any other ship as long as they wer escorted. Their escort, the SSS Pacific was a heavy battleship. It was probably chosen because the They could not defeat it by ordinnary means. Not on their own. They needed help but they couldn't call for it because it would alert their escort. They had to resort to guile.
The captain thenResponded: "Hail the captain of the pacifier. Ask for permission to come on board the Pacifier. That we cannot wait to see what humans have been up to in the years we were gone."
"Sir we got green light"
" Good. Adil and Ann, you two will go in two teams. I want you back within half an hour and their ship disabled." He knew he could count on them. They were the best. Everyone knew that.
A couple of minutes later, on Board of the SSS Pacifier
"Sir, we have lost the delegation from the SSS Dark lancelot"
"WHAT!!" This wasn't good for the captains career "How could you lose them" He knew these people meant trouble. "Well what are you waiting for?Find them. NOW!!!" He was confident he would catch them. But this was bad for his career
"Yes Sir" sounded the security officer, Lieutenant Rossi.

Just outside engineering Adil readies his team to engage the enemy. Engineering was always usefull to cammandeer. It was the most vital part of a starship with the bridge as a far second. But that was being taken care of.

On the bridge. "Sir, Engineering is under attack?". The captain still furious yelled "What are you waiting for. Send reinfocements. Send Rossi. Seal the area. I want everybody there. We cannot lose engineering"

"Sir we lost engineering. But we have Lt. Rossi is almost there sir. We have sent all men we could spare" Adil had secured engineering. He had activated the security protocols. Every atom of oxygen that came in was accounted for. No one could penetrate Engineering unless he wanted to. Outside Engineering Lt. Rossi thought the same thing. He couldn't shake the feeling that this was avery bad day and that it is gonna get worse.

At the same moment the bridge of the SSS. Pacifier opened up. And just as the Captain was about to scream at Lt. Rossi ordering him back to engineering, he was surprised to see a Woman in the door cavity. He was the more surprised when he saw the assault rifle in her hand. "Who are Y.."
Before the captain could end his sentence three more crew members from the Dark Lancelot fell through the airshafts surrounding the captain. It was only the that Ann spoke "Shut up captain. In case you haven't understood you are longer in control of this ship."
The captain understood the brillance of their plan. How they shifted al attention to engineering. But he was confident that when his security force would discover what happen, the Assailers on the bridge would not stand a chance. What he didn't know was that the this attack was was also a diversion. Created to give Adil all the time he needed to jettison the warp core and disable the weapon system and then beam them the men and women of the Dark Lancelot back to their ships.

We needed that. We needed support. A reassurance, at least. A reassurence that the humanity we left is not all gone...
The captain of the SSS Reaper had just left for his ship. He left behind an upbeat crew of the Dark Lancelot. They knew that they were not alone. That there was hope that Sci. Fleet had not completely gone mad. The feeling lasted until one remembered in what situation they landed.
They thought that they would be considered heroes on their return. That they would then finish their mission and take away the scerlag threat forever. They never thought they would be declared wanted criminales. That their people would side with the enemy against them. But they also knew that what had to be done had to be done.
The captain was waiting for the captain of the SSS Reaper to consolt with his crew. He knew he couldn' ask from him to share in his status as an outlaw. But he had to wait. The captain of the SSS reaper was much more in tune with the current Human affairs. He would have valuable information. He might know were to find the scerlag or reinforcements. He might know how to stop them.

As it would be a dirrect violation of the peace treaty our race had recently signed with them, I've had my doubts as to how smart a move this might be. I took a poll with the crew, and it was almost unanimous. We should continue the fight against the Scerlag, peace treaty be damned. We have reached the designated area and have begun construction of the device. All goes well. I will not comment on the details until we have resolved certain issues inherent in integrating the two technologies.
Spurietta is marvelous. Now that she has something worthwhile to work for, she is throwing herself into her work with great vigor. I am considering asking her to join my research staff full-time. However, she has certain issues to conclude with her father before she may make a decision on future assignments. I can only hope that she will accept a place in my crew.
We have received odd communications from the Daedalus. It seems that several star ships are rebelling against SciFleet. I briefly wonder what would happen if all the star ships in the fleet turned against the fleet. Who would they fight?
But I have more pressing concerns at the moment. This research is far more important than any political infighting going on in the fleet. I regret to inform the Daedalus that I must refuse the offer to join the battle group.
I shall continue to monitor subspace transmissions. If I deem that my presence is required then I shall make a decision at that time. Until such a time, nothing must interupt the research.

That's about all I have, too. It seems that a treaty was signed with the scerlag. Human territory has been ceded to the Scerlag by this treaty. Ships have been ordered back to Earth for the festivities. Seems a few of the Captains are suspicious of the treaty and refuse to give up their hatred of the Scerlag race. I, while I don't particularly like Scerlags or trust this "treaty", have research to do. Festivities are not important to me or the researchers on my ship. And being a small ship undoubtedly slipped through the sights of the escort ships that were escorting the other ships home. I never saw any anyway.

The SSS Wasp Factory retreated into deep space after Admiral Spuriousmonkey had a conversation with his daughter. Although he was deligthed and relieved she was still alive the conversation ended as usual in a fight. The communication was encrypted and the nature of the argument is unknown. It is rumoured however that Spurietta once was part of Spuriousmonkey's private Intelligence gathering agency. She was the top agent but their relationship took a foul turn when Spurietta became too independent. It is unknown who she is working for now or if she is even working for anyone at all.
SS command ordered Admiral spuriousmonkey to go to the nearest base for debriefing. Obviously what they wanted was his surrender. In the confusion of the battle Admiral spuriousmonkey abandoned the Queen of Mayhem and fled in the fast Corvette 'SSS Wasp Factory'. Unknown to all in the federation the Wasp factory was carrying project 'Ultima'. The scientist who created Ultima didn't know because they had met with unfortunate accidents. The crew that loaded the project on board the Queen of Mayhem didn't know either, because during their next shift the hull of the stations hangar they were working in was hit by a meteorite resulting in a lethal vacuum and a horrible death for the crew. A freak accident because the hangar shields started to malfunction shortly before the impact. The origin of the software glitch that turned off the shields is still unknown. There are people in SS high command who know about the project of course. But these are the people with godlike powers and impunity.
A dialogue between Hal and the admiral:
'Admiral, I have been receiving some disturbing information. The fleet is in turmoil. We are close to a rebellion it seems.'
'Is it because of the treaty with the Scerlag?'
'Yes, although it still seems to be classified information many captains are suspecting something fishy is going on.'
'Obviously, we never trained any fools', and at the same time the Admiral thought about the consequences. Was it really a coincidence of the Voltron unit appearing in that particular part of space where his daughter was? What was his daughter doing on the Hippie planet? Were they using her to get to him? If so then the people who were after him had incredible powers. They could manipulate the fleet and the Scerlag. Who had such powers? Obviously it wasn't exaclty him they were after but Project 'Ultima'. He figured that the Queen of Mayhem was thoroughly searched at this very moment.'
'Hal, try to establish contact with the rogue ships. We have to organize ourselves if we want to survive the next days or even the next 24 hours. And if we should not fear for ourselves I do fear that human society is under threat.'
'Very well admiral...I have one other urgent matter.'
'What is it Hal?'
'It seems that we run out of tea!'
'DAMN...'

It was a an extraordinary sight. The Queen Mayhem. X18 could appreciate this ship. She was one of those that were constructed by humans themselves, before they started mass producing ships, It showed some of the clumsyness that went with human work. But overall it was a work of art. He wanted to partake in its repairs and he wanted to witness the work of art from upclose.
After having secured provisions and ammunition for their ships, the captaines then swarmed the Queen with engineering details. Their primary task was to make her battle ready, a ship that can be counted on again. But there was a secondary mission, which was conducted by X18's team. It was a data mining mission. They needed to know everything about what their new environment. About the development in human affairs in their absence. The team was the smallest of all, it was X18 and the android known as 'Gator'. Android Gator was the enough for conducting this mission but As the away teams had to have at least two members X18 came along to see the Queen from inside.
'Gator' took his time he was at it for half an hour. that could only mean that data on the Queen Mayhem was extensive. That was an understatment.
"Captain."
"Yes, Gator"
"Captain, could you proceed to the bridge? I have found some interesting data"

"I have discovered many interesting things that will be on my report. There are however three discoveries that I don't think can wait." X18 didn't respond as if waiting to hear more. And so Gator continued. "First of all, we have been declared outlaws by Sci.fleet because of crimes committed by the the general." This news startled X18.
"I have discovered a direct link to the Central Intelligence Unit section 7. The link goes up as far as level five. I have uncovered information concerning a treaty that has been signed by earth's top bureacrats. It is between Earth and the scerlag. It offers them parts of human territories as a bribe for not attacking earth. A very unprudent treaty. For it shall make the scerlag bolder in their affronts and it shall give them a foothold on the outskirts of sector 8. It seems there was a very biased media coverage for the affair. Specially by SCNN. Most citizens don't know what is happening exactly. Top echelons of Sci Fleet and the intelligence committee are against this treaty as are many of the better informed citizens.
Also, They know that a flee is present inhuman sapce but they have failed to locate it.
"The other captains ought to know about this immediately. This means we might be attacked by both Sci. fleet and the scerlag under the guise that we are a threat for peace.
"Sir. There is something else You need to know. I have uncovered some Info concerning a project called ÜLtima. It appears Admiral Spuriousmonkey has it on is ship. My info is rather sketchy but it could be a great asset in our struggle against the scerlag. Also, it turns out that the admiral is no longer an Admiral. He is a rear-Admiral now."

On the SSS Pacifier. (for those who are curious abbout the fate of Lt. Rossi)
"Where is Lt. Rossi" Shouted the captain. "Ï ll have his head for this. This is was all his fault"
But at the same time Lt. Rossi was also looking for his captain. He had served under him for nine years, nine years of hell. He blocked his promotions. He played down his achievements. He always gave him the worst menial tasks. And he blocked his transfer from the ship. This was the last drop. And as he was entering the bridge...
"Rossi!! You s...." Started the captain screaming. But, again, he stop before he could finish his sentence the captain experiencing a strong feeling of deja-vu as the Lt. raised his firearm. Lt. Rossi had had enough. Two rounds in the head ot the captain. That was all he needed....

Quite miraculously he would be able to flee the ship. He would then choose for a life on one of the freighters that would trade the produce of the farthest mines to colonies nearby the far ouskirst of human space. He would be eventually be able to find joy and tranquility in his new life. After six years of his life as a fugitive he would yearn to see his family on mars, where he would finally land after a journey of two months. He would be arrested before he could join them. Lt. Rossi would die an early death in prison as a consequence of the harsh life of the mines.

I have agreed with Captain Dreamwalker on the following course of action. While he shall meet up with the SSS Daedalus we shall proceed to Aqua Vitae to inform our comrades of the new developments. The SSS Reaper and the SSS daeldalus will then head for Aqua vitae. They have to know what is happening especially since the Sci fleet has declared us all Fugitives from the law. They might be attacked by Sci. fleet or by the scerlag.
Our goals are as follows:
1) To find and destroy the scerlag fleet.
2) To stop the signing of the treaty back on earth.
But first we have to regroup at Aqua Vitae.
