I believe not. Humans will always be smarter and more intelligent than any Artificial Intelligence. Take a look at chess for instance: Gary Kasparov is still much better player than any chess-playing program invented to date.

If AI is going to go on without humans, it's going to have to evolve its own power supply, its own repair systems, ideally its own reproductive system. It will have become AL.

It doesn't need to be smarter than the people who developed it; it only needs to outlast them - which is not difficult. Once the non-computer people become dependent on AI, AI only needs to be smarter than them - which will not be difficult.
