Poverty is disturbing to many. What! You didn't know that? To avoid being labelled self-centered you're saying that it's much easier to know and not do anything about it?
Personally if you want to try and get under my skin then you should know I really don't care. This is the internet, I'm a disembodied message on a computer monitor. Occasionally if the straight lines my detractors give me are worthy of a retort then I'll fire back. I know it doesn't mean crap but it's fun. That's what this whole experience is, entertainment. Do I expect to change the world here? Not a chance. Think of the millions of threads and posts that go on every day in the world, how many actually affect people's decisions? Maybe the football betting sites but can you honestly say your opinions have changed that much since you've resided in this forum? The thing is we all try, but in reality, we need to accept the realization that all of this means next to nothing but has more meaning than grabbing a cellphone and calling your buddy up to tell him you're walking the dog.
