Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life?

Or we could simply erase Garfield's opinions and turn Jon into a more (sur)realistic idiot guy who thinks he is talking to his cat but is actually jabbering with himself.

I used to love Garfield as a kid. It was an odd interest of mine. I think I have a few of the stuffed animals and most books stowed away in my rents' attick somewhere. I think, on some subcouncious level, that is why I picked out a big fat golden cat when I finally broke down and adopted one from the pet shelter.
