You are one delusional person. The semester that starts in january is the Spring semester. Their are 2 semesters that make up the school year plus an optional one during the summer. The quarter system is comprised of 3 quarters that make up the school year plus an optional one during the summer.
other kinds of systems are the trimester(which I think you are confusing with the quarter system) the 4-1-4 system and the block system.

Wrong as usual, draqon, though it does depend somewhat on the individual school.

In the VAST majority of U.S. colleges and universities, there are only two and they are known as Fall and Spring semesters.

Tell us - seriously - don't you ever get tired of sticking your foot in your mouth??????

    1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 = 3/4 :bugeye:

I don't know how your school does things but in all the schools I've been to there have logically been 4 quarters.

Yes, Spring, Fall, and Summer, that make 3 quarters, now were is the 4 quarter?

Quarters are part of the Semester System, 7 weeks makes a Quarter, 14 weeks makes a semester, 2 Semesters make a School year, and you can cut your time to a diploma by taking the Summer Semester to earn extra credits or make up credits.

Yes, the Semester started in January.

So when do you start school?

ps: thank you for making my opinion so important that you had to do a special thread.

    no that makes 3 semesters.

Quarters are not part of the semester system. 2 semesters=3 quarters. roughly.( it is 3 quarter hours equal 2 semester hours)

Yes the semester but not the quarter.

None of your business. and I have already told you.

Well i didn't feel like derailing the other thread any further with the attempt to educate you. I do feel the need to educate someone as ignorant as you to be of upmost importance.

we are talking about college academic terms not k-12.

My school runs purely on the quarter system.

Each quarter is 10 weeks long (plus a week for final exams). There are 4 quarters in a calendar year, but most students don't attend the summer quarter. Thus, the academic year itself is only 3 quarters for the majority.
