Boba

Boba, Buo Ba Nai Tsa, or bubble tea, is a Taiwanese drink that has been mysteriously very popular in the US since 2001 when it was introduced to illiterate, non-cooking Asian folks.

The recipe was well-known to competent cooks, and moreover, savvy readers of Chinese newspapers since its invention in 1994.
