Do you find it hard to find a good restaurant in your town?

    I do...

I fact, I have to travel almost eight miles to enjoy my favourite middle eastern dishes.

What would you like to see in your neighbourhood establishments? This is not about the booze, or the service. This is strictly about the food...and why it fails???

No. Some of the best restaurants in the country are in the cities where I own homes. Restaurants usually fail because of poor management.

I live about 2 km away from a take-out Chinese restaurant, I'm happy.

You know its interesting but Chinese food seems to be the most consistent...from place to place.

with us its service. We can forgive poor food faster than poor service. Maybe the chef called in sick, but poor service?
I've been to a restaurant where a waitress set our napkins and silverware down and asked us to set our own table. Then she came over to take our order. We never received menus.

The biggest problem is the mishandling of carbohydrates...rice, potatoes and pasta!

Especially leaving the rice uncovered so it dries out...as one sees at buffet tables.

Pasta should always be lightly coated with butter!

I have little hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints on every freakin' corner so I'm satisfied.

Only problem is when I want some good fish 'n chips, I gotta go down to Santa Monica at Ye Olde King's Head. OMG, best Icelandic cod, ever!

I don't see good Malaysian or Turkish restaurants much. Nor do I see good Vietnamese food, though DC has some good selections. The best Chinese I have eaten was in New York's Chinatown, the best Turkish while on the road in Saudi Arabia.
