The mod just locked the "Royal Cubit is Earth Commensurate" thread, and the mod says it's because there was no post there for about a day, therefore, why are not about half of the rest of the threads closed for the same reason?
What's the problem? 263 postings not yet enough? If you want to continue start another where the previous left off. Moderator's opinions inevitably vary.
Many threads' most recent posts have disparaging remarks, in fact, most of the threads at this site are chock full of disparaging remarks, so why are they not locked after a day of no posts?
And Meanwhile, if you'd read between pages one and fourteen, you'd see that they got their heads handed to them.
Which other threads? If you mean to suppose that the average length of a thread exceeds 263 postings, I demand a recount.
Perhaps not on the odd occasion that after 263 postings the discussion continues to relate directly to the original title, but how often is that the case?
Bias and favoritism, clear and simple. Current mods have no notion of what it means for threads—hence posters, hence people, hence the real world—to rectify themselves, to revise and fix a nasty situation, to purge themselves. By locking a thread that had merit, potential, and interest solely on the basis that a few cheap shots got introduced along the way is to deny human nature altogether. So in effect, by locking these threads they are handing the victory over to the disruptive ringleaders and their minions before any effective about-face is even possible. Yeah, I'm having a real problem with our current mods.
How do you work that out? I proposed that moderator opinions inevitably vary, from which no particular conclusion would follow.
I propose that such inconclusive opinions are for plebes behind locked doors. This is the bloody wide world web. Moderators should really be more cosmopolitan and less suburban.
It's just uncomfortable for indoctrinated scientists to realize that the ancients were accurately measuring and mapping the Earth, goes against the communal dogma of mainstream academia, they hate to be wrong, lots of tenured guys put on the spot, very uncomfortable for the united Darwinian/uniformitarian front.
I see. Such is life, calls for Justice ten a penny but provided only on the odd occasion, with a heavy surcharge and no guarantee.
I never found so much of a market for it. The demand is for the benevolent father they never had, not so much for another child in need. Do you happen to know of a thread like this that a desired consequence actually came of? Perhaps it would help to state what exactly the desired consequence would be.
I was hoping for a free exchange of ideas, not locked, as other threads are not locked which also didn't have a new post for twelve hours or so, do you see the double standard?
Who ever said the ancients were not measuring and mapping fairly good? It's your looney contentions regarding numerical relationships involving everything from the pyramids to the communal toilet trough. Maybe that's why the thread was closed. Pure lunacy.
