Do you think you're life would be different now if you had been named a different name at birth? Do names have a big impact on who you become and how others treat you? My coworker says cheerleaders all tend to have similar names. Which I said was a stereotype, but I went through some random lists of high school cheerleaders and she was right they do all tend to have the same names. While people on the math and chess and other "nerd" related clubs tended to have not very common/popular names. Why?

Of course a person's life would be different if they had been named Beulah instead of Tammy. Or Shanehneh instead of Lori. Its a first impression thing

Was it about Ashleys, Kims, and Brittanys that draw them to cheerleading?

I think those are the girls that have Moms who steer them to girly things. My daughter didn't sign herself up for dance/cheerleading.

The same Ashleys, Kims, and Brittanys play sports as well. I just thought it was weird. As I myself was always involved in sports and cheerleading as well. Just fitting right into that stereotype, in fact I still do. And now that I think about it there are more than one Ashley, Kim, Brittany, and Sarah on my cheer team as well.
