Not particularly, but I see it as a necessary evil. Personally I see a dangerous precedent in islamic law for us secularists et al, and I'm not above pointing it out. I don't want Pennsylvania to become another bloody Pakistan. One of the islamic posters here has absolutely no compunctions about killing apostates and homosexuals and otherwise passes off as "reasonable"; that's enough for me to be a lot more leery than I was previous. My position is "live and let live", but maybe a kind of global separation of the two cultures would be best. If Pakistan's the model for world sharia...well. Geoff
OliverJ i apologise too you all that this is partually my fault, I have just started my paramedics degree and i havn't got much time to come on here and moderate the section and dave's gone missing so i cant get any help. James is doing what he can but he is only one person. I assure you that if it apears that we are sationing this that isnt the case. Its simply that we just cant get here to deal with it. After this weekend i hope to have some more free time to clean this section up but i cant gareentie it unforunatly. Again my apologys
I believe it is a good thing. This forum has alot of people who lie and decieve people to increase other people's hatred of Muslims. Some posters even have said all Muslims should be nuked and have said racist things about Palestinians and Pakistanis. If you want to argue with Muslims on religion, go ahead, but calling them all terrorists every single post doesn't get anyone anywhere.

I delete and edit approximately equal numbers of anti-Christian, anti-Muslim and anti-Jewish posts. Yet, at the same time, I receive complaints that I give preference to one or more of these groups - usually from the very same people whose posts are so offensive that they needed deleting.
No, he's just claiming that you're too politically correct (not that I am claiming that because I don't have enough evidence). But anyway, it's a shame, this forum used to be so interesting... Perhaps taking some more drastic measures like banning the usual antimuslim or antiamerican spammers that add nothing useful will help clean this section up...
as far as i know, there are only 2 jewish people that frequent this forum...myself and another fellow. neither of us spread hate in any way, and would both be considered "fairly moderate" in just about everything... maybe the hate spewed is between western culture and arab-muslim culture. i think that would more accurately describe the situation on this forum. *shrug* not that it matters. i said "arab-muslim" and "jewish" in the same reply, so now im going to be called a zionist again, im sure. it surprises me how much hate and extremism people have on this board. i've been here for years and it's taken its toll on me... because i feel like everybody has these opinions. i often find myself reassuring myself that it is only certain people on this board who are so vile and extreme... and that average people are not so bad

Well, honestly, I think the fact of the matter is that many people feel this way. Although there are certainly many moderate-opinioned members, I think that for every moderate member there are two extreme members who, unfortunately, feel that an internet forum is the best place to safely spew their Anti-American, Anti-Christian, Anti-Muslim, Anti-Penguin, Anti-Whatever views. Once people realize that internet forums are not the local tavern, I think SciForums will once again be an intelligent, semi-objective forum.
