This film explores the origins in the 1940s and 50s of Islamic Fundamentalism in the Middle East, and Neoconservatism in America, parallels between these movements, and their effect on the world today. From the introduction to Part 1:

"Both [the Islamists and Neoconservatives] were idealists who were born out of the failure of the liberal dream to build a better world. And both had a very similar explanation for what caused that failure. These two groups have changed the world, but not in the way that either intended. Together, they created today’s nightmare vision of a secret, organized evil that threatens the world. A fantasy that politicians then found restored their power and authority in a disillusioned age. And those with the darkest fears became the most powerful. " The Power of Nightmares, Baby It's Cold Outside.

In this day in age when an iron media curtain surrounds the United States, it's nice when a little free expression makes it through, even if you have to download or watch it on the internet.

This film is so explosive it's been banned by every television outlet in the US, and had one meager and brief showing at an arthouse theater in NY City in which every playing was sold out. (This was the version that won awards at Cannes Film Festival, not the slighly longer one online.)

There is so much eye-opening truth -- right in the words of Donald Rumsfeld and the rest of the cabal which has hijacked our country -- that this movie will make you think.

    Did you know that . . .

    1) that Al Queda is a word invented by the US and not Bin Laden?

    2) that every "terrorist" prosecution you've read about in the U.S. since 9/11 turned out to be baloney, no real terror crime, despite much ballyhooing by the US corporate media?

    3) that the guy who started the Islamic movement was a democratically-elected politician in Egypt who was very popular because he opposed US corporate takeover in Egypt during the 1950's and 60's, and that he was a fierce critic of Sadat whom he said was corrupt and taking payoffs to giveaway Egyptian resources? (which we now know he was) And that as a result of his criticism of the Egyptian government, the man was arrested and tortured (with the help of the CIA trainers), and that as a result of his torture, he decided violence was the only way to fight, and Islamic terrorism was born as a result? (Anyone thinking of Abu Garib and the rest of the torture we're doing these days?)

    4) that the same group of Neocons in power today faked a bunch of intelligence in the 80's to try to make Russia look far far more dangerous than it was? And that Republicans then used this propaganda for local political purposes?

This is a movie you should download and burn onto a DVD. You will want to watch it repeatedly and let your friends watch, too. This is an amazing story which exposes how the right lies, cheats, steals and murders to keep power and money. It should be required viewing for every high school kid, because if it were watched, the GOP would collapse and it would be the end of imperial wars for conquest and resources which we've seen a lot of during this and the previous century.

Yet somehow you are unable to grasp that the Palestinian intifada is also a case of Islamic Fundamentalism.

ppl if u want the best quality then be sure to Download the biggest size of the file!

This is a fascinating documentary about the origins and similarities between the American Neoconservatives and the Islamic Fundamentalists, using archive footage and interviews to describe their extremist agenda of paranoia and fear. Originally aired in the UK by the BBC just before the 2004 American elections, it has not yet been shown in the States because of its controversial nature. I strongly urge you to download these films, burn them to DVD, and show them to as many people as possible.

Are you trying to say that the suicide bombers would still kill themselves even if they didn't think they would be rewarded in heaven?

That Hamas does not seek to dominate all Palestinians with Islam wether or not they are muslim?

That resentment of Israel is all about land and not a deep hatred of infidels?

    Is that what you're saying?

    Seen this show.
I posted links to all three parts, you really have to see them all to get the full story.
Posted in WEP I think, might search later...

    Very good.
Full of little insights and archive gems. One bit of VT I recall had a young looking paul wolfowitz sitting opposite some russian diplomat. Some news show I guess.
The Russian looks pissed off and complains about american interference in the soviet occupation of afganistan. He claims the US are funding terrorists and promoting insurgency. Wolfie stays cool. And simply says
"they're shooting at you. If you had no troops in afganistan there would be no insurgency"
    Well it made me laugh...

If you can find them download them. It's well worth it.
