Ye sure, they were given independence after maskhadov took a maternity ward hostage. soon after they attacked dagistan a neighbouring region.

Second , the chechen people dont want independance they had a referendum not to long ago. The people who want it are the foreign terrorists , drug dealers , slave traders , arms traders and other criminals hoping on making a safe haven.

independance would be good but is the bastards didnt try to take over the neighbouring area or tried to set up a criminal utopia.

the fact that the referendum was not bought is visable by that is that you dont have chechen protestors, not to mention millions of chechens living in moscow and not else where, besides its not profitable for moscow to buy the referendum as it would result in mass unrest in the area from the real population.

the difference between prussia and chechneya is; chechneya is part of russia , prussia was not. the prussian holocaust happened mostly to the fact that the russian army enraged by the war was getting revenge for what the nazis did to them... its terrible I know (i dont support it), probably fault of stalin for saying; "we are now in the animal's lair, treat it like it treated you."
but comparing ww2 to chechneya is stupid and totally irellevant, as for human rights violators look at america for a good example.

actually, the building it on a swamp was a good idea, making it hard for enemies to get to it. swamps have a tendency for that.
