Teenager Mutilates 24+ Pets

Finally!!! This guy has been at it for months. Pets aren't high on the FBI list. And until he started hitting double digit numbers, I'm not sure he was high on the police list.

What happens to him now? Is there a watch list like with sexual predators. I know I wouldn't him living near me even if I didn't have a pet.

Suspected Miami cat killer caught, police say

MIAMI (Reuters) - A teenager has been arrested in a string of cat killings and mutilations that horrified residents of Miami's southern suburbs, police said on Sunday.

Tyler Weinman, 18, of Cutler Bay, Florida, was charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty, 19 counts of improperly disposing of an animal body and four counts of burglary.

Police have said more than two dozen pet and stray cats were killed at night in the Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay neighborhoods during the past two months. In some cases, the cats were skinned or gutted and the corpses left on the lawns or driveways of their owners.

"I sincerely hope that with this arrest, the residents will feel relieved and their cats will be safe once again," Miami-Dade County State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said. "It is expected that the vicious crimes that have plagued these communities will not be repeated."

The killings had put residents of the areas on high alert and prompted them to take their own cats and strays into their homes at night. The Humane Society and Crimestoppers both offered rewards for information leading to the killer's capture.

umm why 19 if there were more than 24?

Oh BTW orleander he oviously hasnt been found guilty yet so posting his photo is probably not kosha.

Lastly doesnt the US have seprate organisations to deal with animal crulty cases? why would the police or the FBI be investigating at all?

I think he is only being charged for the pets, not the strays. or of the 24, they only have proof for the 19.
Don't care if its not kosher.
The cops are involved probably because pets are property. And the FBI would help with a profile of an animal mutilator. Many murderers started with pets. We also have the Humane Society, but not every place has a Humane Society police force (like it shows on Animal Planet)

Interesting, in Australia all these sorts of investigations (including misuse and abuse of farm animals, owners misstreating pets and seriouse delibrate cases of abuse) are handled by the RSPCA by legislative authority. They use the police oviously because they are not armed and i belive the police arest (for the same reason) but both the procuting authority and the investigative one is the RSPCA

 

Ironic, if pets weren't considered property, then this wouldn't have made the news.

The pets were dumped on the owners yards, so there is a better timeline.
If a mutilated stray is found, it could be days afterwards. Evidence is lost.

And his face is all over the media. TV, Newspapers, Internet. I have no problem posting his picture in a forum. You don't like it, report it.

 

and I don't think it did when he was killing strays. I don't know if its because they were strays or because it wasn't noticed. He wasn't dumping them in front yards to be noticed. Then he got good at it, got more confident and started in on pets.
People started keeping their cats in, which made it more of a challenge for him.

 

Imagine if he had moved on to humans. Bit harder to manipulate though.

 

You mean easier to manipulate.. what's harder about killing people is keeping the cops off your back.

 

This is so pointless. I don't see what is good about murdering helpless animals unless you need to eat or something.

 

I am hoping that this is his driver’s license picture with the smile on his face, and not his mug shot because if it is, then it’s going to hurt his chances at trial.

I am neutral when it comes to killing cats and dogs, but mutilating them and skinning them and then leaving them on the owner’s front yard for me is crossing the line. If he had just poisoned them and let them die nobody would have known it was him but his post mortem actions indicate severe mental issues.

Maybe everyone should get his jail mailing address and send him nice little postcards and pictures with lots of cats, and nice little messages on the back with sayings like, “Not all cats have stripes, but all cons do”

 

Good thing they found him now, though. People like this could end up evolving to killing and mutilating people.

Not all people who kill animals cross over to kill people, so to assume this guy will is wrong IMO. Some might argue that evidence and statistics prove all serial killers stared killing animals when they were younger but this still doesn’t mean this guy will. My neighbors have some pesky cats and I wish this guy had lived in my neighborhood before he was caught.

Oh I think poisoning neighbourhood cats would indicate severe mental issues quite clearly as well, as does being neutral when it comes to killing cats and dogs. You fucking psycho (in the literal sense, not in a cool or tough way).

Poisoning animals might actually be more telling, in my experience people inclined to poison anything, even plants or insects, tend to have strangely destructive tendencies and lack a conscience in general. It's only more cowardly and perverse, no less cruel than slaughtering with a knife or club.

I think this little faggot's face should be plastered everywhere, hopefully someone rapes his twink ass with shards of glass.

 

Probably started when he was 4 or 5. Gives a whole new slant to "cereal killer"

 

I can't imagine how those people must have suffered when they found their pets like that. That guy should be assigned to a mental institution and never let out.
