top Taliban commander has offered a reward of 100 kilograms of gold to anyone who kills the person responsible for "blasphemous" cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed, the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) has reported. If someone killed the cartoonist responsible for the cartoons in Denmark, the "Taliban will give 100 kilograms (244 pounds) of gold," Mullah Dadullah said in a telephone call to AIP from an unknown location, the Pakistan-based private news agency reported on Wednesday. Dadullah also said the Taliban would give five kilograms of gold to anyone who killed a Danish, Norwegian or German soldier, AIP said. AIP said Dadullah was operating as chief commander of the Taliban waging an anti-government insurgency in Afghanistan. The agency quoted Dadullah as saying the Taliban's list of would-be suicide bombers had grown since the publication of the cartoons. Free expression means you have the freedom to feel offended, but not control what people say, or print.
free speach comes with the responcibility to use empathy as well. PROTECTED free speach is only for political comentry. Personal atacks, inciting vilonce ect are against the law (at least they are here). delibratly posting something that is false to get a reaction is compleatly irisponcible. The publishes of all but the first printing should be charged with inciting violance because thats EXACTLY what they knew they were doing and any deaths which resulted from there printings are on there heads as well (could possable get manslaughter for it) I know that if australian news had printed it and one of my family had been killed because of it i would be suing the news paper, editor and publisher for causing there deaths. That all said there is apsolutly no excuse for the vilonce on the other side although i can see where some of them are coming from. Between afganistan, iraq, iran, palistine ect this is more just the straw that broke the camels back than anything else
But they could have just been asserting freedom of the press, and I admire that. More people should stand up for it and not be bullied into submission. You should see the cartoons about Jews that come from those same Muslims.
