Have we even discovered anything new during Stem Cell Research or is it just pointless to keep wasting money on such a thing?

There is no end of info out there that will explain where stem cell research has come from, where it is today, where it is going and why. http://stemcells.nih.gov/ http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/tech/stemcells/ http://www.newscientist.com/topic/stem-cells There are actual clinical treatments for cancer that have arisen from stem cell research. Here is one example: http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ETO/eto_1_3_Bone_Marrow.asp The potential clinical treatments for congenital and degenerative disorders that are likely to come from continued stem cell research are awesome. Research money spent to date has not been wasted, and it is not pointless to keep investing money in this exciting area of biomedical research.
It's being looked into for myelin restoration in MS patients, or at least may maintain it. Keep supporting it.
