I'm doing an experiment on simple and complex pendulums, simple, in this case, being a piece of string with a mass at the bottom, and a complex being a chain (so weight from bottom to top). I am comparing the difference in time period of the two, and am trying to determine a relationship, or any differences. However, i do not have an exact "Aim". I was hoping for any suggestions on an Aim, or any ideas on how I could develop this. What I have done so far, is done the experiment for simple and chain. I have, for the simple, tested all the obvious variables. Such as, change in mass, change in length of string, and change in angle of release. hundreds of measurements have been taken. The same has been done for the chain. However i want to go in depth into the differences, relationships, or any thing else of interest. Any ideas?

What have you found for the period of the chain, as compared to the period of the mass on the string?
