Plazma Inferno! 03-05-07, 08:49 AM Hi all!
I'm glad things are going well with Encyclopedia.
I've created this new thread for all your questions and suggestions about SciForums Encyclopedia.
Also, if you have troubles using Encyclopedia, post it here.

leopold99 03-05-07, 02:40 PM we need an index somewhere.
edit:
ah, you click on "special pages" then "all pages" for the index.
Ok I did something wrong
The Science & Society link on this page
http://www.sciforums.com/encyclopedia/Special:Allpages
Goes to the Science page instead of the Science and Society page.
How do I correct this?
invert_nexus 03-05-07, 07:27 PM How do you revert a page?
Edit: Figured it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Reverting#How_to_revert

You should put 'and' instead of '&'. Also, try to use letters, not numbers and signs to avoid this happens.

I did. Its Science and Society. I just wanted Science & Society to point to the same page.

Title must go with 'and' instead '&'. I'll try to fix it.
leopold99 03-07-07, 04:34 AM i want some references that cruise missles bomb civilian targets on this page:
http://www.sciforums.com/encyclopedia/Cruise_missiles
edit:
i would like to think that the posters make a serious attempt with our encyclopedia.
unlike the devil inside that posted i drink my own pee.
real brilliant numbnuts.
spuriousmonkey 03-07-07, 05:03 AM It doesn't really matter. A wiki is dependent on as many edits as possible. By making ridiculous articles other people that normally are not inclined to edit will feel inclined to edit.
And there is no point in copying wikipedia.
James R 03-07-07, 07:41 PM Is it possible to use TeX in the encylopaedia?
Wikipedia does this using <math></math> tags.

leopold99 03-09-07, 03:46 AM what does "rss" and "atom" mean?
Plazma Inferno! 03-09-07, 03:58 AM what does "rss" and "atom" mean?
They're 'feeds'.
Here's the definition:
RSS is an XML-based format (using the Resource Description Framework (RDF) - a language for representing information about resources in the World Wide Web) that allows the syndication of lists of hyperlinks, along with other information, or metadata, that helps viewers decide whether they want to follow the link. RSS allows a person's computer to fetch and understand the information, so that all of the lists that person is interested in can be tracked and personalized for them.
or
Rich Site Summary / Really Simple Syndication is a medthod to syndicate your site content. This is done by creating an XML document which summarizes specific site content such as news, blog posts or comments and forum threads. An example of RSS/XML syndication would be PR3.co.uk's Blog Feed.
Athelwulf 03-09-07, 08:52 PM I'd like it fixed so an article's title can have the ampersand (&) in the title. I think Wikipedia has this capability. It's slightly annoying not having this capability on our wiki as well.
I also would like to be able to upload pictures (http://www.sciforums.com/encyclopedia/Special:Upload), please!
