I have a serious problem with some very horrible Americans.

    I personally am pro-choice.

But my choice on the abortion debate has no place whatsoever in what I want to discuss.

My question is this; in a nation which is not 100% people consisting of the exact same religious views and feelings, is it okay to base your laws on your religious beliefs? Is it okay to enforce your religious convictions on people who do not believe in them?

A large number of pro-life supporters in the good ol' U.S. of A. are Christians who believe abortino is against their religion and therefore is wrong.

Now to me, that's great. Go ahead. You believe God doesn't want you to have an abortion, don't get an abortion.

But what right do these people have to tell an atheist or non-Christian that they must follow the Christian religion??

Your religious beliefs are your religious beliefs. You follow them and let me follow mine.

    Tyler,

Suppose I believe it is ok to kill people when I feel like it. That may not be your belief, but if it's my belief then by your argument I should be allowed to do it, shouldn't I?

    Or should I?

The question of abortion is a moral one. Morals can exist separately from any religion, but they are often informed by it. The pro-life position can be taken on non-religious grounds as well as on religious ones. That's what makes it such a complex issue.
