So, it would seem at this point that Carl Rove was in fact the one who leaked the name of covert CIA agent what's her name ot get political pay back against outspoken Bush critic ambassador what's his name. Does anyone here think that Rove is not capable of such a completely petty act which jeopardizes national security and creates a sort of mob-mentality when it comes to crossing the Bush administration? Who could even make a claim that he wouldn't step over his own mother just to get the chance? This is the same guy who, during the 2000 primaries, had a gaggle of Bush supporters calling up various constituents of key primary states to lie to them and accuse fellow Republican, Sen. John McCain of having had an extramarital affair with a minority woman (while in Vietnam, I believe the implication is) and then fathering a bastard child with her. Is there any depth of pure douche-baggery that this guy isn't capable of? I hope that the investigators do their job, and that they fry this guy alive. The fact that he still has a security clearance is completely ridiculous. The news needs to stop talking about the scandal of whether or not what he now confirmedly did have a hand in was wrong (how in Gods name could it not be?) and start trying to get a handle on how much of a hand the President himself had on this matter. Do political advisers and campaign organizers work alone in a vacuum, or do they general at least let their man know what's going on? What did Bush know about the whole affair, and how much of a hand did he have in facilitating or orchestrating it?
Yes, and after saying he would fire anyone involved, Bush now says that he would fire anyone who "committed a crime". Way to be resolute, shrub.
The irony will be delicious as the neocons fall. But the carnage done during their joyride- and the resulting blowback over the decades ahead- truly turn my stomach.
