Here is my take on the affair after watching the video: When he was throwing chairs I say I have no problem tasering him. But when they actually did it he wasn't threatening and he was a middle aged sligthly overweight dude, against 4 young and strong security persons. They could have tackled him easily.... So I would sue their asses... P.S.: Of course if I had been at the airport and had this dude made me miss my flight, just shot him!
The Glories of Tasers--Man needlessly killed Too late to reconsider thoughts on the acceptability of taser use for this man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqdUhotL6Fw&feature=related A Polish immigrant was stuck in the Vancouver airport for 10 hours, threw a computer in frustration, gets tasered multiple times, beat with a baton (this part isn't in this version but is in a longer one), and choked. One of these things killed him.
I only saw it on the news. I saw the man hold up his arms like he was pissed off. Then he picked up a stapler and was waving it around. They didn't show him throwing chairs...
I think because he was exhausted and confused. This was horrible. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
he kept on saying...."I want to get out, help me find the way...Police! Police! Can't you help me?" for a grown man, that seems to be inadequate control of temper of course its his heart that killed him...he must have been overly stressed and as a result of taser shock...died
From what I saw on the news it was terrible. I think this TASER thing is going wayyyyyyyy too far. I think there is going to be consequences this time.
People do those things when frustrated and confused and desperate. Thanks for the translation. Was it actually Russian? I thought it was Polish.
Usually taser videos are all good fun. Like watching that idiot at the Kerry speech get tasered. I was cheering by the time they finally tasered that loud mouthed idiot. But this guy just seemed confused and scared. I wonder if he was suffering from alzheimer's or something? They should stick to tasering young skinny guys and not old, fat guys.
They simply walked up to him, exchanged a couple of words ,even though they had been warned that the man spoke 'NO ENGLISH', and then began to taser him.
Says it all really, doesn't it? The man was scared and confused, threw a table at a window and then calmed down. The police arrive after he has calmed down and instead of trying to find out what was wrong, he is shot with a taser gun (even though he posed no threat), knelt on him until he died. Indeed. It's sad isn't it? A scared and confused man gets tasered instead of helped. The video footage of what happened to this man is shameful.
Big deal ....one lousy guy dies getting tazered, while at exactly the same time, gazillions of people in the world starved to death, gazillions died in car accidents, more gazillions died of easily-cured diseases, and even more gazillions were murdered. Seen in that same context, the death of one person seems mighty insignificant, don't it? Perspective is a wonderful thing, ain't it? Baron Max
Yeah, but the guy in question was from Poland, not some third world shithole which nobody cares about.
Yep, death and justice is only significant if huge numbers of people are involved. That gets our attention. It's much more exciting. Only that is news worthy. Not some insignificant immigrant. Who the hell cares about the human being beside you in line or in traffic. Just cut ahead and if they complain shoot them. It's just one insignificant person. There are more important things going on in the world to think about respect and compassion for one's fellow human.
