I express no regret for my threads, rather I regret that they were inadvertently combined with more serious threads. Though, to be fair, you may be referring to someone else.

You're getting all emotional again, Gustav. And don't try to speak about intent when you can't read minds.

One, I wasn't mocking just YOUR thread, but I was also mocking the SAM thread.

Two, There was no effort to "derail" anything. Merely, to poke fun at. I had no intention of doing anything but telling a few jokes in order to make certain people realize how much of crybabies they were being. I fully support everybody's right to complain about their particular issues, thus my avoidance of intricate participation in those threads (in fact, I think I posted a total of three times in all of them). If I wanted to derail anything, believe me, I have better tools at my disposal and would have used them.

Three, since I'm not prescient (if I were, believe me, we'd be living in a very different world. . . or at least I would be), I had no idea that there was going to be some odd, mutant combination of all the threads (which, you noted, I didn't want). I would have preferred that my little jokes either get deleted or ignored while the other two serious threads be left alone.

Give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Really. If nothing else, I would note that String and I have been getting along quite well of late, and I haven't crossed over to any proverbial dark side as a result.

This whole situation has become something of a farce, although most days around here are, anyway. But, still, even as such, it's a fairly unusual degree of farce, and more than a little taxing. We're only partway through this, and people are definitely going to seek humor to release some pressure.

Besides, how many digressions around here allow me to hit Moonlighting, Star Trek, and rim jobs in the same discussion?

As a more general note, take a breath and have a quick look around. In truth, there is more progress occurring in this disaster than I had expected. Accepting what blessings we have doesn't mean we can't clamber after more; but neither do we want to cast aside those already in our basket.

The spectrum on this among the moderators is broader than one might think at first read.

(I'll throw Trippy in there, too. Sorry, didn't mean to leave you out, man. Overlapping post compositions.)

as soon as i saw the spam it was obvious to me that james would have been exulting and rubbing his hands in glee at the opportunities availed to him by the actions of the trolls
