In 2004 with Iraq quelled the American public was expecting a withdrawl time table from Iraq .
And 2006 was to be the start of a gradual wind down and eventual withdrawl strategy .

But lets face it powerful elements within the US establishment namely the petroleum corporations and the military complex dont want a withdrawl from Iraq . Afterall this conflict is being fought for their financial benefit , so how do they prevent a withdrawl ?
Agent Provocateurs by any chance ?
And of course with the escalating communal violence such as this spiralling out of control what can the US occupational authorities decide to do ?
    Imagine my shock .

My opinion on the bombing of the Al-Askari Mosque, it was just a gas leak , or to many muslims eating beans & smoking at the same time & whooshh...

Brian with all due respect here, if bush could go back in time, he would never have invaded iraq in the first place, everbody wants out of there, the only people who want us there are the insurgents who are trying to start a war between sunni & shia to keep the americans there for good.

Oil will be gone worldwide in 30 years tops, its not in americas longterm interest to stay in iraq, oil is a dead duck, even the united arab emirates knows it, as they buy the shipping company P&O, there all planning for a world without oil, i just wish i could have been born in 30years time, when the air is clean again.

My opinion? The shrine is Shiite. Osama bina Laden is a Sunni Muslim. He and his organization wants sectarian violence and civil war to break out to make things even more difficult for the US, and to precipitate total failure.

Now i never new rubbish bin was a sunni, that certainly would explain alot about what is happening in iraq, if thats the case iraq is a total lost cause, as the sunni's out number the shia there big time, and with rubbish bin supplying bombs to the sunni's, this will be a endless war.

Of Saudi Arabia, you mean? Quite possibly. You may be on to something there.

Bush has no say in any policy , nor any President before him . They are simply figureheads for the public to blame . Real forein policy is developed around and accordingly to corporate interests , US oil interests in the mideast must be guarded and protected from encroachemnt from Americas principal rivals the EU .The US must stay there reagardless of the human cost that is what capitalist societies do .
I dont agree I believe we have some 100 years of proven reserves in the mideast and thats excluding the untapped fields .
If your smart about that port deal , it is another indication of American decline , that fact that Singapore missed out on that deal means Singapore may very well disppear . It is a clear indication that the center of power is shifting away from America and toward Europe .
Al-CIADA is a myth , the only remnants of this organisation is to be found in the caves of Afghanistan .
Now your learning , Americas staunchest allie is Saudi Arabia and they both co-operate with each other in suppressing that region . And if America set this attack up it would of done so with Saudi Intelligence help who would of provided the dupes .

it is very sad. i wish they hadn't done it. it makes me really upset to just think of the possibility that the Western Wall would be ruined so i understand how Shias all over the world are feeling right now...

    Brian Foley:

After the golden dome bombing, Bush's approval rating has dropped from 42% to 34%. The elections are coming up this fall, and the Democrats are clamoring more than ever for a withdrawl.

I am not sure how you could possibly believe this would help occupation efforts. Your source referring to eyewitness testimony about the bombing is a joke.
