Jewish 'plot over Temple Mount' I just thought this was interesting because the goal was not to use bombs or guns or suicide bombs but to just go mill around (or TAKE OVER as the BBC put it), the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif/some bloody hill to make the army and police so busy that they can not be used to evict the Jewish settlers elsewhere. What I thought was funny, if what I had read was correct, was their approach. I mean – can you get any more passive other than to mill around an area? If I were the police I’d ignore them and just go about doing the eviction work. Anyway, it kind of shows a funny side to the ME events. If these are the tactics of “Jewish extremists” then I have to have a chuckle . . . . . .
it's considered extreme not because of their actions, but because of the Arab reaction in response... the Temple Mount, believe it or not, is forbidden area for Jews. if you're not a Muslim Arab you will not be permitted to go there by the Israeli police and army. it's plain and simple. that, despite the facts that 1) it's the holiest place for Jews (where the 1st and 2nd Temples were built) so obviously some Jews would like to go and prey there, 2) it's on Israeli territory (recognize it or not, it's under the control of Israel) it is astounding though... if a Jew were to go up there, the Muslim violence/stabbings/murders to follow would be blamed on the Jew. it's nice how you noticed the BBC's inflamatory language. by the way, on top of that hill there are thousands (sometimes tens- and hundreds- of thousands) Muslim/Arab worshippers (they prey 5 times a day), and lots and lots of huge stones, which will be flying pretty fast if the Arab worshippers see the "nerve" of a Jew to go there. even the IDF doesn't go there for fear of riots, and you know how Jihad TV (al-Jazeera and co.) can turn this into propaganda to stir up some emotions in the millions of viewers in Arab countries which are pretty much helpless against it with no alternative sources. then the Arab governments would have to do something about the "Zionist aggression against al-Aqsa mosque" and it'll quickly turn into a diplomatic incident.. these people are pretty crazy to even try to go there, although in principle this little passive disobedience is not different than any university student sit-ins in the president's office or something.
The Palestinians certainly didnt chuckle when Sharon the war criminal visted the Temple on the Mount deliberately which sparked the intifada . And as for those Jewish squatter extremists with this sought of behaviour I would nothing past them .
