This must be new to science, this cake lost about 50% of its volume in less
than 10 mins, is it a micro black hole in my kitchen, may be attracted to the currants, or was some weird spontaneous mass to energy conversion taking place?

Neither - it was conversion of mass to ass.

Then it sounds like it was still hot and fell (collapsed). Cakes (hot ones) do that all the time if there is some loud, sharp noise like the slamming of a door.
