What a shame! I liked him, and so young!

The Academy Award nominee was found dead in his home.

police spokesperson has confirmed that actor Heath Ledger, 28, was found dead in his New York home .

TMZ reports that Ledger was found in bed by his housekeeper. No details have been released as yet, but TMZ says that law enforcement sources are not treating it as a crime.

MSNBC is reporting that the actor was surrounded by pills and CNN is reporting that the actor suffered a cardiac arrest.

Ledger, who has a daughter with fellow actor Michelle Williams, was nominated for his role in 'Brokeback Mountain' and just wrapped filming on 'The Dark Knight' where he played The Joker to Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Ledger was filming 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,' directed by Terry Gilliam at the time of his death.

    Selected Filmography:

    The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
    The Dark Knight
    I'm Not There
    Casanova
    Brokeback Mountain
    The Brothers Grimm
    Lords of Dogtown
    The Order
    Ned Kelly
    Four Feathers
    Monster's Ball
    A Knight's Tale
    The Patriot

i dont but the way they are reporting it here is very reminicent of a suicide. In cases of suicides in australia they will report very little or nothing at all normally unless they are someone famous or important

The police report says they are not treating it as suspisious and there report sugests either suicide or acidental OD.

Everyone needs to know help is out there and to keep these sites in case you might need them one day. Everyone goes into depression at one time of their lives and it isn't wrong in asking for help to get over that feeling. I am also available if you need just to talk to someone that's been there and done that.

The news said he was having problems sleeping and they found over the counter sleeping pills by the bed. I bet he couldn't sleep and just took a few too many, especially if he was drinking as well.

This reminds me of James Dean. So much promise cut tragically short. His poor daughter won't even remember him.

I don't get why you are pushing this depression thing so much. So far nothing has been said about him being depressed
