Traveling to wherever we are going is part of the adventure so I would think it is half of the enjoyment of going places. I am refering to car trips, buses and trains in particular or even cruise liners . To see stuff along the way is a great enjoyment for I try to find things that are hidden , off the beaten track or just oddities whenever I travel .
Depends... Flying 1000 miles, nah, my idea of a fun time does not include finding all the ways I can unsuccessfully drown out the sound of a spoiled child screaming his head off while his/her parents sit there whacked out on Valium going "shhhh... shhhh.... quiet baby...". On a boat 1000 miles, at first sure. I've never been on a boat that long but I've been on a boat long enough to know that cabin fever's a bitch when you can get no more then a few feet away from your fellow crew members without jumping overboard (this is for a sailboat, cruise ships, hell yeah, that'd be fun!). On a train 1000 miles, why not, if they got a bar, it's boozin with scenery out the window! In a car 1000 miles, with some buddies sleeping in shifts, screaming along with very bad but very loud music, boosting up on coffee and nasty energy drinks as the sun comes over the horizon, meeting all kinds of strange walks of life in every gas station along the way... priceless!
the only thing to me that makes the trip fun is the anticipation... but you cant use me as an example becuse i get motion sickness easily.. so long trip+movement= vomit
