who do you think is going to prosper in the recession? (assuming someone will)

will it be those entering uni now? four years to sit out and plan?
maybe entrepreneurs with a few pounds in the bank ready to snap up opportunities?
bookies - we all love a bet in hardtimes.... or publicans?

i guess one answer is nonmaterialistic will survive best emotionally and rise above it all......but they have basic needs also and maybe some hard killer instinct is required to survive these times??will the idealist end up being corrupted?

The question you should be asking is what is going to happen to the really poor people that already are not in very good condition. The rich always survive because they can move away from everything and wait it out.

    absolutely true.

But, in this depression we are likely to see a lots of middle and working class suffer in addition to the impoverished struggle for quite some time. protection of the poor is a crucial social issue that must be addressed, but my question hoped to ask who is likely to rise up from it (excl. the rich) and what qualities will be a benefit in this time? i think there could be a potential shift..

I'd suggest it's more likely the people that couldn't enter a flooded market. A collapse/recession wipes the board as such granting new comers a far chance at gaining a market slice.

Some people who are unaffected by the recession are enjoying it.

I'm looking for a job; the rent is high; my savings are down 25% thanks to the crash; the £GBP is down; the train is £40 return (and I'm only travelling 70 miles to see most of my friends).

One the plus side... I'm.. erm... drinking a lot of booze?

Was Sol the Book alive when they dumped him into the vat ?

    I don't think so.

    No...

They'd already given him his injection, and played a nice film & some stirring music for him, hadn't they ?

I am sure the injection really made him sleep a bit and he was still alive. Makes the story more lively.

    Unlikely.

That ride in the garbage truck would undoubtedly have awakened him - not to mention everybody else in there.

I'm currently unaffected by the recession. My rent hasn't changed, food isn't that bad, and I can sleep well at night.
