Today i was emptying some boxes from my move before christmas and came accross a load of tapes from the 80's and, when i started listening to them i found that i loved them,

    bands like:

    go west
    spandau ballet
    curoisity killed the cat
    durna duran
    sex pistols
    bon jovi (the early stuff)
    billy idol
    a - ha

and i got to thinking, what did you all like in the 80's, i will admit that i was a duran duran freak, so what did you like?

I thought you were asking about music...

Hell, the 80s were good times. Musicians actually could play their instruments and not mashing up songs by computers. No sequenzing, not much swearing. Good times.

    {fondly reminiscancing}

They might be brilliant, but what they were doing isn't music....

I always listened to Christian music but I did like some secular stuff like Robert Palmer, BonJovi, Aerosmith, The Stones, VanHalen, Luther Vandross, Barry White and most other soul guys, ELO, U2...

    I admit I even liked the Bee-Gees.

But mostly for their Saturday Nite Fever stuff.

Hey, I even tell you which was the best year of the 80s: 1980

In no other year came out so many classic heavy metal albums:

    Judas Priest: Britsh Steel
    AC/DC: Back in Black
    Ozzy: Blizzard of Ozz
Saxon: Wheel of Steel, Strong arm of the Law
    Iron Maiden: Iron Maiden
Van Halen: Women and Children first

Edit: How the hell did I forget?:

    Motorhead: Ace of Spades

We can say the decade started out with a bang. By the way anybody noticed there are no classic albums anymore???

    Additionally:

Black Sabbath: Heaven and hell (not the most classic, but one of the bestselling)
    MSG debuted: Michael Schenker Group
