Zuckerberg's Neck (No, really)

Gosh, I didn't know any of that family stuff. I have been keeping tabs on his Space program which has been incredible so far.

He could have such a huge impact on science and technology with his billions of he just concentrated on that.
Yeah well the trans thing with his son leading to a personality change was even mentioned by Alastair Campbell on a recent “Rest Is Politics” podcast. So it’s certainly got people wondering. The business about Errol I learnt recently, but it’s all on Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musk_family

Because I haven't done anything wrong. You are the one trying to distract and shift blame. Everyone isn't called out equally.
Well, I'm no mod but even I noticed you insinuating that another member might a pedo. There aren't a lot of trolling insults that are lower than that one. I've reported that before and I'll do it each time - so you're not exactly getting treated unfairly.

(I would note that the last member who made similar insinuations about another member got their site privileges revoked, so you're in good company.)

Just food for thought.

Anyway, I'm out.

I leave this thread for a couple days and look what happens! :)

And I had no idea y'all were all so tall. At 5/9, I am the average American height. You six footers and plus are just a nuisance when I attend street events where one is trying to see past the people in front of you. Also consider all the environmental degradation you're causing, maintaining those giant meat towers.

(disclaimer: this is only satire, to comment on the mindbending tedium of threads that devolve into personal attacks. Oh, and Paramlee: leave those kids alone, man! )

I mean, I do run an after-school sweatshop--but I run it mostly by the books.

Yes I’m that height too and my neck size is a paltry 15”. Clearly inadequate for running a global social media corporation. Nor have I shot any pigs, whether with a gun or a - far more butch - bow and arrows.

If you can't kill pigs with a box cutter or paring knife, you are hardly fit to run a taco stand let alone a global conglomerate. Also: testicle tanning is important. Google Tucker Carlson testicle tanning for details.

Isn’t paedophilia what the Q Anon myth is all about?
That and drinking the blood of child sacrifices to get something called "adenochrome" which will make the Clintons (and other people the right doesn't like) into immortal Satanist vampires. All of which is taking place in the basement of a pizza place in Washington, DC that doesn't have a basement.

No, really.

(To tie it back into the original post.)

Exchemist is smart, this is not a good tactic. Google Oxbridge entry requirements.
Re: that video:

I especially like when he says "You see, intelligent people" and then indicates himself.

I have known some truly brilliant people, and one thing they all have in common is that they never have to claim they are smart. It is blindingly obvious. Telling other people "you see, I am intelligent" is one of the first signs that they are not as smart as they think they are.

Yeah. The guys I go to conferences with put me on my ass. My engineer leaned over to me on one conference and said, "I hope you are recording this."
Thing is you come across something like that you throw yourself in, if you are in the field.
Engineers and techs like myself need to know what the understanding is, the current physics is.

Zuckerberg's transformation isn't anything too creepy, in my view. Physically he's just working out in a manner that encourages a larger/stronger neck, and the rest is possibly just him recognising that he needs to project more confidence to help Meta continue to succeed with him as CEO.

Brief notes on that.

First, I've only hinted↑ at the creepy part, and haven't decided whether to put the longer explanation in Politics or Religion.

Second, part of what will emerge from that discussion will hint back toward questions of priority. On this occasion: Why, then, is masculinity the manner of projecting confidence?

Thus: Is it really confidence? The bit about having the shirts to prove it reads even weaker than the part that reads like a line Neil Simon never bothered to write. Actually, altogether the whole thing sounds more like something W―... er ... never mind.

Is he actually mogging? Compared to strength (MMA training) or vitality (health) and optimization (training ROI), why is the confidence Zuckerberg projects a matter of masculinity?

Or, at least, that's what stands out to me.

At any rate they give me the creeps.
First thing that popped into my mind was body/muscular dysmorphic disorder, but I admittedly don't follow this celebrity enough to have collected meaningful evidence. I just see a correlation between the sports genre, the interviewer, masculinity tropes, insecurity (wants to present a certain way for dominance), and perhaps body building goals. TBD whether this will be the origin story for some synthol-Corpsegrinder looking CEO ten years from now.

The point of Rusbridger's article is different. He thinks - and I agree - it is all a pose, newly adopted by Zuckerberg to ingratiate himself with the new far-right administration. Recall that Zuckerberg threw Trump off Meta social media before. Trump is notoriously vindictive.

Hence we now see a self-serving repudiation of the previously inclusive, fact-checking moderation style of Zuckerberg's channels and a synthetic (and rather preposterous) piece of repositioning of him personally as some kind of macho tough guy.

True, and tried to challenge Musk to an MMA cage match a couple of years ago after winning a couple of medals (prior to last election).

Actually, that's a good point. I had forgotten that. So maybe you are right and he has been trying to dispel his nerdy image for a while, before Trumpy politics made it a business imperative.

Remember, Zuckerberg has been a masculinist since before Facebook.

That is to say, he's been a misogynistic narcissist the whole time.

And taking counsel, as he does, from the Andreessen, it is likely a merit in the new tescreality. Zuck's neck envy is right on target for the socially retarded tech sector. It's not about dispeling a nerdy image, but asserting a new order.
