World Statesmen:

Roosters for ever

At present, the two most leaders I respect in the world today are the Ukrainian President Zelensky, and Canada,s PM Mark Carney. Both are forced to stand up for their respective countries, against known bullies leading much larger nations. As far as I am concerned, all the free nations of the world, should make sure Ukraine does not lose this war against Putin the bully. With Carney, the Canadian PM, I believe at this time the free world (including China) should unite against this USA and stand with Canada. The following speech by Carney is well worth listening to...to the end!
the main gist of the speech starts at the 3 min, 58 seconds mark. I would like to think that Australia,s own PM will act accordingly, and I believe he will. Out of interest, my Son is going to the Americas in August, visiting Canada, Mexico, Panama, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

Yes an excellent speech, crystallising the issue and getting it out in the open, which badly need to be done.

In fact it has glavanised a flurry of expressions of similar sentiments in Europe. People are no longer so afraid of Trump's wrath and are realising the way to deal with the guy is to stand your ground and not waste time currying favour with someone so utterly unreliable. So they are speaking up. And already acting. There is a perceptible shift away from reliance on the USA for defence and towards European rearmament based on indigenous manufacture. Germany is exploring protection under France's nuclear umbrella, something unthinkable - for either party - a decade ago. (France has its own SLBMs, built by Ariane*). Canada is "reviewing" a previous decision to buy American military aircraft. Trade agreements with other countries are being pursued with urgency. Canada has led the way with a new agreement with China, much to Trump's fury. There is even now a move to set up a European and UK alternative credit/debit card payment system to escape dependence on Visa and Mastercard, both of which are US-owned.

I don't think Trump realises the effect will be to strengthen the Europe he and his fellow fascists wish to destroy and to greatly diminish the influence of the USA in the world. The Trumpies in my opinion are committing the common error of holding a rival in contempt, and thereby underestimating what it can do.

* De Gaulle will be quietly smiling in his grave. He was right, though it has taken 80 years to come true. France looks wise to have retained its defence independence.

Such as? What "strange behaviour" of Zelensky's are you referring to?

I'm hoping some of our US media owners can take some inspiration from those fellahs, and remember where they put their spines.

I know everyone's too polite to say it, but I fantasize a private tete-a-tete where a head of state tells Turnip bluntly to stop acting like a selfish and petulant eight year old.

I've stopped translating her posts, and your exchange reminds me that she will reliably regurgitate Russian propaganda on topics like Ukraine or the Middle East. If you want to bother with that, have fun, but I don't see much learning curve.

I don't give a damn about your opinion.

Well, look at his movements, gestures, eyes. It's just, we've gotten there's enough of them now, and I'll see them right away.
Which "movements, gestures, eyes..." are you referring to??? Post a video with his supposedly drug-addicted mannerisms, ffs, so we all know what you're referring to. Or am I meant to guess?

I can't attach videos or photos here. They don't attach.
That's because Russia is thirty years behind the West in internetting.

Maybe soon you will be able to upgrade to Nyetscape 2.0 ?

It's just that Zelensky has been known here for a long time, long before he became president. And he was completely different back then. Watch videos of him when he was playing KVN, and videos of him now.
Gee, I wonder if having one's entire country and a half million of one's citizens bombed into oblivion on one's watch might possibly change a fella...

Russian propaganda puppet. If I could extra-ignore Olga, I would.

And yet you went to some trouble to inform me of this in English. LOL. Looks like you are capable of translation to English. Who knew?

As to your snarky comments on Zelenski's mannerisms, is it possible these are indicative of a man who is sleep deprived (apparently there's some kind of major war going on) and caffeinated and then doing a stressful job?
