No, obliterating Hamas will allow the US to convince both sides to negotiate with no preconceived notions, something that worked at Camp David. Palestinians want a state, so they say, israelis want security guarantees. That is the place to start. What state and security can come of it negotiations may tell.

Israel left Gaza. The Gazan's destroyed the green houses just because they were Israeli. This happened well before Hamas took over, demonstrating Gaza hatred for Israel. Hamas took over and started attacking Israel. Thus the present situation.
