No, Miss Wanzhou voluntarily showed up in Canada without any diplomatic credentials and we processed an extradition request for her. She got to stay in a nice big mansion and travel around Vancouver the whole time and she always had it 1000 times better than the two Michaels locked up in cages in China. The Canadian government should withdraw all of its diplomatic staff and other officials in China, expel all Chinese officials in Canada, arrest all Chinese citizens in Canada receiving money from the Chinese government to cause political agitation, ban all further Chinese investment in Canada and all Canadian investment in China.

Yeah I stopped watching ages ago. Ever since Ben Johnson had his 100m sprint world record stripped because he got caught taking steroids while everyone else in the competition also took them but didn't get caught, I've felt that Canada gets the short end of the stick in these things. Either let everyone take steroids, growth hormone etc. as much as they want and wreck their bodies in the long term for the sake of short term vanity, or test and punish everyone equally.
But beyond all the cheating, the corruption itself is utterly disgusting. I have no desire to fill the pockets of some random old boys' club just because they own the naming rights to an event they had no part in originally creating, especially if they're just going to take bribes and sell out to the highest bidding fascist of the day. If it wasn't entirely political from top to bottom, countries like Russia and China wouldn't even send athletes to these events, let alone bulldoze entire neighbourhoods and villages without compensation to make room for them.
