Привет, Джеймс. Это Ольга. Я зарегистрировалась с другого телефона. Видимо, кто то не хочет, чтобы я писала на этом сайте. Именно здесь, потому что все остальные функции на телефоне работают нормально. Когда я начинала писать с прежнего телефона, у меня либо писались слова задом наперёд, либо вообще писалась какая то ерунда.Olga:
It has been almost two hours since I first posted to this thread. We don't seem to be making any progress. We'll see if things are better for you tomorrow.
Мог, Теват. Я об этом тоже подумала.I wonder if the recent chat about Russian problems with Rainbow and you and me could have triggered something. Please stay safe.
Retal ouy ees!
[...] I thought about it too.
Maybe time to use a VPN (virtual private network). There's slightly more freedom to comment on the state in Russia than China, but sooner or later the government facilitated hackers or the applicable service provider itself will impede you. Or just stay away from topics that are critical about the Russian state.
Yandex browser surely has a "hidden eye" just like Kaspersky Anti-Virus. The company owners may not want it, but it's not up to them.

Maybe that's true, but I think I was blocked by the site itself. That's why I think so: at first, a few days ago, I lost the opportunity to write replies to posts. Words were written either backwards, as in a children's game, or in general some extraneous sentences were written that I did not write. I wrote a few words backwards, and they were spelled correctly. Then I wrote to Pinball in private messages (private messages were still working fine at that time), and described the problem to him. He promised to tell James. So, by now, James should have known everything about my problem on the site, because Pinball is a responsible person, and I think he complied with my request. But James's reaction was strange, to put it mildly, you saw it yourself: "hee-hee, ha-ha, Olga - figure it out yourself." The Internet has nothing to do with it, everything works fine from other phones. This is a problem on the site, and it was created especially for me. Perhaps it's not even about politics.
Я не удивлюсь, если и Ольгу 2 вскоре тоже взломают. Хотя телефоны того производителя, которыми я пользуюсь, взломать нелегко, почти невозможно. Это мне профессионалы сказали. Значит, нашёлся хороший специалист, который смог это сделать.I once tried translating an entire page featuring your posts, and when I tried to write a reply under that condition, the AI translator kept altering what I typed in weird ways. I had to undo the whole works to get anywhere, and returned to translating one post at a time from then on.
Alternatively, if the Sciforums site itself had been hacked (that kind of extreme), then they could still mess with your posts. The individual or agency might have been setup to only be alerted to posts from your original username. But they would soon discover "Olga 2".

Он тоже вас знает?Vladimir Putin is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.![]()
James, I see all of Olga's posts on the forum have been deleted. Did you do this as some kind of safety measure, or have we GRU to thank?Olga:

.Olga's previous posts--as in, original incarnation? When I click on the profile and go to random posts, they are appearing just fine--are you saying that they are not appearing to you? That would be interesting.James, I see all of Olga's posts on the forum have been deleted. Did you do this as some kind of safety measure, or have we GRU to thank?
No sorry my mistake, I forgot I still had her Mk 1 version on Ignore, which is why when I checked her content nothing came up.Olga's previous posts--as in, original incarnation? I have already told you several times: nobody on sciforums has done anything to block you or to prevent you from posting.Maybe that's true, but I think I was blocked by the site itself.
This suggests to me that somebody is interfering with your computer, or is intercepting your communications with sciforums. That's why I think so: at first, a few days ago, I lost the opportunity to write replies to posts. Words were written either backwards, as in a children's game, or in general some extraneous sentences were written that I did not write. I wrote a few words backwards, and they were spelled correctly.
Pinball passed your message on to me. Since you were still able to post, to some extent, I told him that you could contact me directly. That's what you did, in a way, by starting this thread. Then I wrote to Pinball in private messages (private messages were still working fine at that time), and described the problem to him. He promised to tell James.
I was and I am aware of the problems you have been having. I was not aware of any problem until Pinball sent me your message. So, by now, James should have known everything about my problem on the site, because Pinball is a responsible person, and I think he complied with my request.
Please keep in mind that translation is not perfect. I can see this because when I translate some of the Russian versions of my words, which you quoted, back to English, some of the meaning and some important qualifiers and nuances are lost. But James's reaction was strange, to put it mildly, you saw it yourself: "hee-hee, ha-ha, Olga - figure it out yourself."
It is possible that somebody in Russia doesn't want you to talk to Westerners on this site, about some topics, at least. Or maybe it's just a strange problem due to a virus on your computer or something. The Internet has nothing to do with it, everything works fine from other phones. This is a problem on the site, and it was created especially for me.
It is difficult to know.Perhaps it's not even about politics.
Джеймс, я писала не с компьютера, а с телефона. Вирус, я полагаю, нарушил бы общую работу всего устройства, а не только этого сайта, но этого не наблюдается. Значит, кто то не хочет, чтобы я писала именно здесь.Olga:

I told you, several times, that I don't think I can help with your problems posting to sciforums, because the issue is with your computer, not with sciforums. I have no control over your computer or your internet connection.

Did you write all of the short (one or three words) replies, above? Or do words sometimes appear in your posts, which you did not write?
It is difficult to know.
James, I wrote not from a computer, but from a phone. The virus, I believe, would disrupt the overall operation of the entire device, not just this site, but this is not observed. It means that someone does not want me to write here. ..... Джеймс, я писала не с компьютера, а с телефона. Привет, Дэйв! Да, я тоже заметила, что переводчик иногда меняет текст по своему усмотрению, вплоть до потери или изменению смысла. Из-за этого бывают недопонимания.(I completely missed this whole thread, which is now 10 days old.)
I am not sure if this has any relation to Olga's problem, but it might interfere with clear communication with her.
I have noticed a change in how the Google Chrome browser translates in the last week or two.
Before, when I had translated a page, and then began composing a reply, it would often change the first word of my reply. There's a thread around here about that.
But recently, I can type an entire sentence and, when I hit the period, it will reformat the sentence into a different structure.
For example:
"When I hit the period after an entire sentence, trhe sentence will be reformated into a different structure."
I think what it's doing is aggressively altering my phrasing into something that can be translated better back into Russian.
Hi, Olga. They are not turning it off completely if there is still access to commercial websites. It means the State will have to block many IP addresses (you may get an HTTP 404 error message when you enter the URL for blocked sites), which will be a challenge for a country like Russia. IP address ranges can span across several countries, so it is hard for a large nation with many IP ranges to block a foreign IP range without blocking some of its own addresses. This "savagery" will require much labor and money. Also, many people with a VPN can by-pass blocked IP addresses and still access them. Our mobile internet was turned off for two days. You feel like you're in the Stone Age. They say that soon they might turn it off completely, leaving only banking apps and marketplaces. Some kind of medieval savagery is happening...
Привет, Теват! В Минцифре уже разработали какую то систему, чтобы при отключении мобильного интернета оставались работать только банковские приложения, и приложения самых крупных маркетплейсов. Берут пример с Северной Кореи. Сегодня опять до вечера выключали интернет. Никогда не знаешь, когда и насколько его выключат, и это очень раздражает. А впн у нас официально запрещён, и за него теперь будут штрафовать. И кроме того, их тоже отслеживают и блокируют. Каменный век.Hi, Olga.
