Why spend the time to read or post to sciforums?

I had often wondered.

Motivations are of course mixed, but you are nevertheless invited to declare which best would describe your disposition.

To kill time in a fun way between experiments.

Also to think about something other than work (which occupies all waking hours right now) as a mental break.

Also the atmosphere at sciforums is pretty unrestricted and there are some interesting personalities here with a very divergent outlook, which makes for a great deal of entertainment and some really original points of view. :)

Ron, do you actually think you'd ever hear the extremeties of ideas and delusions in person that you read here?

Oh no, my sense of moral superiority is founded very much upon my wife's assurance that I am much the same here online as elsewhere, offline, while I know for a fact that others are definitely not the same here, not according at least to private confessions, or the lack of them.

Why else do they flee in fear and squeal like tortured pigs when threatened with their own reality?

It also shows in their own assumptions, that what they see of each other is but a supercial artifice, with some deeper psychological secret yet to be revealed. That is all projection, paranoia.

Ron, it sounds very much like you answered your own question.

eh, it's usually to add my opinion, or in the case of the computer forum to help someone with a problem, unless it is i who needs help.

i post here because i lead a trite, meaningless life, of late.

and to hear a bunch of self styled intellectuals act like they are better than the next guy...that is unendingly amusing to me.

I was conditioned, programmed, definitely not self styled.
Tried hard for most of my life to shake off the grammar school arrogance, but it was a loosing battle.
Nowadays I find it better to mind the advantages.

I come here to see what Devil inside thinks about the self styled intellectuals that act like they are better than the next guy.

It's funny to see people think they are intellectuals while they are just monkeys with a typewrites (apes for the connoisseur).

You didn't have any options in your poll for why I was here.
