Recently in the UK, a father shot his wife and daughter, and then committed suicide.
The Chinese proverb says "a ferocious tiger won't eat his own cubs".
But why a human can do so?
Why took away the life of own child?

Rare tiger kills, eats her own cubs at zoo

. . .Although the Times notes that both wild tigers and those in captivity will eat their young if they're stressed, hungry, or looking to mate, the tragedy was unexpected.

Animals have no moral standard. Humans not supposed to kill own offspring.

These guys are called "family annihilators". Their acts can be triggered by business failings, debt, domestic unrest, threat of separation/divorce, suspicion that a spouse wronged them, etc. Undiagnosed depression and mental illnesses may be contributing factors when concerning particularly baffling cases. George Pattison had an unsuccessful venture into the wine business.

For the case I am talking about, both couples have good job and the wife just got a promotion.
They do not have financial problem.
The news never explain the intention of homicide.

Often it is simply a moment of rage. Without a gun, that turns into a fight, perhaps someone gets hit, and then it's off to the marriage counselor or even police. With a gun, that turns into a dead family.

The father must be an emotional and not self-controlled person.
