Who has what role?

recall one scene in the German TV series "The Dark" of a school classroom that featured only one non-white student.
"Alles ist miteinander verbunden."

(Just "Dark, " btw. No "The.")

Europe, it seems, is destined for the fate of all vanished empires. The local population will be largely replaced by people from Arab and African countries, because their birth rate is several times higher...
Doubtful. Birthrates drop when people migrate to a more developed country. And many people migrate to a country whose values they believe in. So the traditional values are upheld, not erased. People are able to embrace their own ethnic culture and an overarching national culture both. A lot of America's vitality comes from that hybrid.

Yah, spastic reflex of mine to add a definite article to bare nouns, among many other subconscious tendencies I have to go back a second or more times and monitor for. Missed that one.

Note the Germans used the English word for dark as their title, rather than calling it Dunkel. On first viewing, I'd assumed the title was translated by Netflix for English language locations. But "Denglish" has taken over Germany, so you sound like a tourist if you forget to sprinkle in English loan words. Nobody says besprechung now, they say meeting.

(OT, sorry)

Consider that multi-ethnic and multi-denominational turmoil has been a fixture of the United States for decades and decades (and yet still the nation has somehow persisted over that span). Europe is just catching up, as its population finally becomes more heterogeneous across all societal attributes.[1] On the plus side, there will be fewer guns that the cultural and inter-religious quarrels and secular clashes with those elements can play with. As well as with respect to whatever new street gangs, criminal organizations, and radical movements arise via the social justice inequalities and biases falling out of the community frictions, accumulating grievances, reciprocal accusations, and opportunistic methods to treat or remedy that chaos.

[1] I recall one scene in the German TV series "The Dark" of a school classroom that featured only one non-white student. Something that seemed astonishing compared to a current day American classroom. Those days of such isolated population and cultural uniformity will be over -- the time has come to enter the jagged miscellaneousness of the "real world".

The United States is a completely different story. People went there from the beginning, and continue to go there, who don't want to simply live a measured life in their own country, or who don't want to put up with unfavorable conditions in their own country. Everyone goes to the States for their own dream, if you can put it that way. This is largely what constitutes American success: the motivation of the population and the constant influx of "fresh blood." This won't work with Europe. Europeans are much more "sheltered" and "home-loving." And these migrants mostly go there for "freebies," for free benefits, and other "perks." They contribute little to the economy. They are often poorly educated, low-skilled, and even with all their desire, they won't be able to compete with Europeans. Therefore, they settle in their own neighborhoods, which resemble ghettos, and commit lawlessness there out of desperation. Why does Europe need this? To atone for its guilt complex? History has long since atoned for that. Besides using the natural resources of their former colonies, Europeans also built infrastructure there, after all. Something tells me that if European colonizers hadn't appeared there, Africans would still be sitting in palm trees, Arabs would be herding their camels, and Indians would be spending most of their time practicing the Kama Sutra.

Yah, I get the cultural homogeneity and whatever supposed stability that Europe might have enjoyed for centuries via that. Which maybe places like Japan and China (the part where Mandarin Chinese reign) have likewise experienced.

But that brand of isolation can't last forever in a sinking world where places like Europe are deemed life rafts to swim to, and where local doomsayers are waving the demographic crisis around like a signaling flag.

Ironically, the most authoritarian or right-wing countries are probably unattractive to migrants (and thereby their "monotonous" uniformity gets prolonged), which in turn perhaps feeds potential political shifts in that direction for the traditionally more left-center areas that are over-flooded with incoming populations.
