OK, yours is quite cool. But only because I like Coyboy Bebop (one of the only animes where US accent dubs are tolerable).

In order to know which avatar got the most nominations.. let's list the avatar that you'd like to nominate and indicate the total number of nominations next to the name. For example, if 3 posters nominate the avatar of poster A, B, and C, the list becomes:

1. poster A: 1
2. poster B: 1
3. poster C: 1


Then, if the fourth poster want to nominate the avatar of poster whose name is already on the list, for example avatar of poster A, then the total number of nominations for poster A is 2. So, the fourth poster update the list, and the newest list becomes:
1. poster A: 2
2. poster B: 1
3. poster C: 1


SELF NOMINATION DOESN'T APPLY! :p

Nominee so far:
1. lightgigantic: 1
2. nietzschefan: 1
3. plazma inferno!: 1
4. ....

Just an idea...!
 
Then, to make the whole thing interesting, beside BEST avatar, let's also make the WORST avatar nomination :D

I never thought about whether an avatar is particularly good or bad, I just use them as a visual shorthand to identify a poster.
I'll have to give it a good think.

I do as well. It's like seeing a familiar face. Sometimes people clone others avatars and its just confusing. I think someone has Roman's banana right now.
