What would you do?

This is a hypothetical scenario:

You are a soldier on patrol in some foreign country. All of a sudden a 14 year old kid (girl or boy) jumps at your vehicle. As he/she is getting ready to throw the molotov cocktail at you what are you going to do? How would you deal with the scenario?
 
Too many unknowns for a definite answer but I'm thinking there would be a dead 14
year old on the side of the road. Assuming I can't find an obvious way of saving both
of our lives, how would you like me to react ? One thing is certain: I won't be dying.
 
Shoot the kid off the vehicle....at some point innocence of a child and general human compassion isn't a factor anymore...only survival is.

That kid doesn't care about me so I won't waste my breath on him/her.
 
I'd shoot and severe the burning cloth like Vash the Stampede would do, making the grenade useless.

if i was american i would empty an entire clip into them however since i am not,
i would try do whack either the kid or the bomb away with watever was in my hand at the time
 
It really depends on many factors. Is the child holding a rifle, granade or molticov cocktail? Is the child seemingly acting as if they were going to try and detonate something under their clothes? It is a tough call and like I said it depends on many things.
 
Shoot him. Only thing you can do really isn't it? Besides running him over or letting him kill you.
 
hmmm....., if they were a suicide bomber then mhat would be the diff, they die either way

you might have died. You are overthinking it....not that much time.

shoot kid in the leg. move behind obstacle or lay flat or something to remove self from harm as well as possible given terrain avaliable
 
Your question seems designed to provoke the humanists to unveil themselves, and provide opportunity to reveal the soulless members of the board. Why?

When confronted by such an immediate situation, your first thought is not "How old is the person standing there?", or, "Think of the life they will miss out on by my killing them to prevent their action", but "This person means my death." The corresponding reaction should be self-evident.
 
Even if it is possible to spare his life and able to save my self, I still want to kill him because if he is alive, one or more of my comrades will likely be killed by him later on...
 
Hmm, what would I do? How about run him over with my vehicle, jump out, empty a clip into him and cut his head of, which I then tape to my front bumper to discourage others.

Really, I do not care. If he wants to kill me, he has to take the risk of dying.
 
i would kill him/her and then get up and shoot all of his/her bastard friends. Then i would find his/her father and kill him.

Then when everyone is dead it probably will turn out that he/she was just trying to hand me the molotov so that i could throw it at some enemies. Poor kid. I feel sad just talking about it. . . :( No, i don't; good thing that i am emotionally handicaped!
