in America, someone with no family, no friends, no money, no health care was terminally ill at a hospital and had no means of paying the bills for his last 30 days of his life.

will he get kicked out?

He could be. If he could get around on his own, then yes.
If he was desperately ill and needed to be in a hospital, they still could, but they would have to move him to another hospital. A gvmt hospital, not a private one.

Rule of thumb:

If he can walk or roll, he can walk or roll out the door.

As far as I know, for terminal patients who cannot afford it, hospices in the US provide services free of charge.

no thanks, i dont wanna pay other peoples medical bills because they smoke, never excersize, and eat fast food everyday.

They would fund your medical bills as well. And just because you never exercise and eat fast food everyday doesn't automatically make you unhealthy. That was my freshman year of college. :D

A person is never turned away from a hospital because of their inability to pay. Of course they do have to be ill and not just needing a place to stay. In the US, it is against the law to turn them away if they are ill. In California, we have a system that helps the hospital pay for the indigent patients bill. Its called the Medically Indigent Adult system, or MIA. Hospitals absorb an awful lot of cost for care given to the poor or homeless. I have been in midmanagement for a few years and we have an obligation to provide services to those who cannot afford it. The horror stories of hospitals going after people for payment usually means that those people have not followed through after discharge with all the required paperwork to the county and state.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but as I understand it, simply being "ill" is not enough.
If a person does not have any immediately life threatening injury, they can be turned away and told to go to another institution, as far as I am aware.
