What is sciforums?

Spill the beans Wegs has he been in touch? He misses the site right?
Lol! Actually, no. I haven’t been in touch with him, he’s pretty active on sci village - I just miss him, here. :( Even if every argument was circular, I liked his vibe. But anyway, I understand why he was perma-banned.

I miss Olga if I'm honest. Easily one of the angriest, shortest fused, frustrating posters on this site but I liked the human side, I side she very rarely revealed.
I had her on ignore for ages because she refused to solve her translation issue!
She was also very rude about English people, English men. When she started on that I suddenly felt all very English, insulted and defensive.
She pressed a button.
Did she get banned or left on her own? Everyone comes back…eventually. It’s all the warmth and coziness that this site oozes, I think.

I liked Olga's jokes, feisty persona, flirting, and her tidbits of Russian folklore. Also hope she returns, though on some topics she's nutty as a fruitcake.

BTW, if you translate a page with Russian posts, it will grossly mistranslate my Latin tagline along the way (I don't think Chrome translator handles Latin, but it tries to). It's Steve Martin's old standup motto, "A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants." (Which I think Martin derived from the Marx Brothers but not 100% sure) One of our mods at the dot net website also has that as one of his taglines.

Australian translator requested! I'm standing by the billabong, looking confused.
In the bush (translation: forest, jungle, woods), one way of letting people know where you are is to shout out very loudly some kind of phrase that carries easily through the air. It's an Australian tradition, of sorts, to call out "Cooo..... Eeeeeee!" in a particular way to attract attention and to see if anybody else is around.

Hence, the phrase to be "within cooee of..." something means essentially that you're within shouting distance of it.

Cooee is or was British too, though we never had the construction "to be within cooee of".

For some reason the Private Eye spoof title of Clive James's autobiography came to mind: "How I Whanged My Donger in the Kedgeree".

I've never looked on there. Three sites is probably enough!
