M*W: IAC, have you ever been to Israel? I know many Jewish folks in my community, and a few Israelis who immigrated to the USA, and that wouldn't be their observations. Devout as they may be with a love for their homeland, they all agree that Israel is not what the travel posters would have us believe! Jerusalem, and many other cities all over Israel, is riddled with crime and corruption, the Israeli Mafia, drugs, porn, sex trade, horrendous prostitution... you name it! If it's illegal and disgusting and against all things good for human life -- welcome to Israel. I've never been, myself, and even if I had the opportunity to go, I wouldn't. In addition, you have people blowing up buses and grocery markets, so why risk it?

I wish I had something good to say about Israel, but I've just heard too many bad things about it. I don't mean for this post to imply that I'm anti-Semitic or anything. That is NOT my intent. I like my Jewish/Israeli friends just like I'm fond of my Muslim friends.

Talk to people who either live there or who have visited there. Maybe you will hear something good.
