What comes after Capitalism depends on what comes after the Industrial/Technological Revolution. We had Mercantilism before Capitalism. What we will have after it will depend on what type of economy we have after.

If AI/Robotics is the next phase then perhaps Universal Basic Income is the next system. Who knows?

Universal Basic Income , while I understand the benefits , this income is in control of governments .
 
A more mature capitalism . A Capitalism that understands the bigger picture . Holistic view . Towards ourselves , environment , and all living creatures on this Earth .

How can we manage greed?

Once replicators are developed, like in the fiction Star Trek, and energy is free of cost, complete medical support etc. and people do not have to worry about basic survival issues then all they have to focus their greed on is how to be a better person and what to do with the luxuries they seek, then perhaps Greed will be more manageable.

A form of capitalism that is only needed for the advancement of the collective. A capitalistic form of communism ( Marxist) that has no concern for the survival issues, as they are already catered for.
I think the Trekian ideal is worth consideration...

In the typical dystopian future predicted by most science fiction we see an ongoing class disparity with extreme poverty and wealth still present. Starvation and desperation fueling the desire for more and to transcend the birth right they acquired upon birth.
Where poverty itself fuels envy and greed.
A viscous cycle of those suffering poverty and those who fear poverty and the constant conflict this involves.

But what if the issue of comfortable survival is no longer significant? Will the conflict continue?

They needed a symbiotic lifeform that would use their waste product

enrich the atmosphere with carbon dioxide which they need to thrive.

(from a human prospective---they were here first and we are their symbiot---bred and born to satisfy their needs)
several life forms were bred to fill that niche---from insects to amphibians to reptiles to mammals, and we (the lords of fire) are the only ones who could come close to filling that niche
