Weird text substitution

Weird artifact been happening the last few days.

In any response I start with capital W (such as Who, Where, What, etc). them moment I type the W, it auto-corrects to IN.

So Who becomes INho; Where becomes INhere, etc.

I think it only happens in posts responding to ольга, after I translate their posts from Russian.

Не только это. Я заметила, что некоторые мои фразы корректируются, причём на более правильные, например, некоторые цитаты. Поэтому я и предположила, что переводит ИИ. Хотя иногда он желая сделать как лучше, искажает смысл.

Oh look, there's another one. "Yes" is auto-translated to "ANDes" as I type. Never seen that one before.




Anyway, yes, I noticed that, when you typed the phrase "a state within a state", it was different in Russian but translated the same in English:

But I am not concerned about that so much here. That's just a bad tranlation. The word 'state' in English has multiple meanings - whoch we distinguish by content. In Russia, the same meaning happen to have unique words.


I'm more concerned that the SciFo editor is auto-correcting my words in real-time while I'm typing them.

Яндекс пытается быть впереди конкурентов, продвигая ИИ во все свои сервисы. Это то, о чём мы недавно говорили - он не всегда понимает смысл некоторых фразеологических оборотов. Думаю, научится со временем. Но нам нужно иметь ввиду эту его особенность.

What's not correct is how Chrome translates your Russian into English in my browser:

(I mean it's not incorrect, it just seems to make little sense because the two Russian words are one word with two meanings in English.)

So that's not a Yandex problem.

A couple of weeks ago, when applying translation to a whole page, I noticed my own attempted replies being altered in bizarre ways even after the process was supposed to have ended. So I abandoned that approach and went back to translating individual passages.

I don't think so. I think it is an intractable problem.

What you have typed is correct Russian, an I see it corredtly in Russian. When I ask Chrome it provides a technically correct translation of it, it's just that the English words for those two concepts happen to be the same word.

A state of mind is different from a police state. In Enlgish, we discern the difference by context.


There must be cases where two words in English both have the same spelling in Russian.

Every time we translated she grew in power, now she is some sort of MeccaOlga that wouldst consume the entire earth! MWAH HA HA HA HA!!!!

The other day I noticed that we had a member named Away. Then I noticed they had the same avatar as Wegs, and I speak enough German to recall that wegs means away. Initially I was surprised because I thought the translator recognized capitalized words as names and didn't translate them, but then realized she posted her name in all lower case. The autocorrect glitch here is really weird. I always keep autocorrect off, with just autocomplete on my tablet keyboard.

Which reminds me of a joke (this won't translate for Olga, sorry):

The inventor of autocomplete died this week. His funfair is next monkey.

The user named geordief got translated to georgeous, and I had a few moments of dissonance thinking some new user had stepped into the chat.

It only happens when I follow the steps in post 1. The key is the use of Chrome's translate feature.
I've simplified the steps in the following post.

- Clear any text from the editor and type W:
W
- This works fine.

- Refresh the page.
- Use Chrome translate - you should get two options: 'detetected langauge' and 'English'. Choose English.
- Clear any text from the editor and type W:
IN

And this works on other forums, so it's not a SciFo problem; it's a Chrome translate problem.

А мне другое интересно: почему у меня перестают переводиться тексты, после того, как Пинбол что-нибудь напишет под вопросом? С чем это связано? Вот и сейчас происходит опять то же самое.
