I haven´t been posting much for a while .. so I don´t know if you had this one already ........

One of Einsteins last enigmas from his theory of relativity from 1916, is the prediction of gravitational waves .... causing vibrations of spacetime ...

So far they have eluded earth based detectors .... AURIGA and LIGO ...
But in ... ahemm ..... 2018 LISA might find them ......... it´s 3 spacecrafts will be placed in a triangle with 5 millions km distance .... and the lasers can measure variations in distance between the spacecrafts of 10 picometers ...
less than the size of one atom !!! ......... theoretically .... hmmm....hmmm ..

Banned??? What's so offensive about this post? Makes perfect sense to me!
Sputnik was banned at his own request; we were not particularly happy to lose him. I did not participate in the process so I can't tell you what his motivation was. There are several common reasons people on internet boards have for making that request. One example (and again I don't mean to imply that this has anything to do with the Spootzter, it's just a generic example) is that they think they're spending too much of their time on it and they lack the self-control to deal with it at their end.

Well, inasmuch as the physics is concerned:

There is indirect evidence of gravitaitonal waves in pulsar spindown: see here.

Direct detection is probably coming soon. A friend of mine is working on new ways to detect them, see his talk here, or another version here.

Sputnik's 888 posts (in comparison,to say, 11000 plus posts)....suggests that this is not the issue though.... plus his own admission that he hasn't been spending much time here......of late...
